I find it incredibly ironic that you site the "prophecy" as support for gokus greatness while ignoring the fact that the prophecy was rendered false the second vegeta turned super Saiyan...followed by future Trunks, followed by gohan, followed by chibi trunks followed by gotten followed by cabba so on and so forth

Goku set the standard. Vegeta saw Goku reach super Saiyan and immediately wanted to imitate his training regimen. How does a Saiyan elite and a prince look toward a low class warrior for guidance *scoffs*. Gohan's finest moment was laced in his papi's threads. Soon as he started dressing like that deadbeat it was all over.

Exactly. That incident wasn't special to Goku. Frieza on Namek? THAT was special to Goku. ONLY Goku could have beaten him at that point in time. The Cell Games? THAT was special to Gohan. No one else could have achieved SS2 at that moment and saved the world. Broly? ANY of the Z-Fighters there could have absorbed energy from the others and taken Broly down. EITHER Goku or Vegeta could have taken Golden Frieza on during Resurrection of F and won. ANYONE between SS3 Gotenks, Mystic Gohan, and SS3 Goku could have destroyed Kid Buu. There are things that happen because only specific people can make them happen and things that happen because of coincidence.

And that wasn't even enough. Kid Buu threw that ish back at Goku and they had to use a wish to get Goku his strength back to finish Buu. He needed the help of Vegeta, all living things on Earth,....*gulp even Hercule to beat Buu.
