bandwagon fan here, but idgaf! I'm just glad to see another major championship celebration back in Chicago since 1998. (2005 doesn't count for me lol). All that matters most is the city you live in, borned and raised, and loves....wins a championship. Let the celebration begin!

Wrigleyville was crazy. That area sure knows how to party and celebrate. They didn't want it to end! The CPD did though lol. Safe to say that Wrigleyville had the biggest celebration in the city.

ahh, nothing like the occasional drunk trying to climb a streetpole....

my battery died so i couldn't take pics on what happened next:
the guy who climbed the pole was obviously getting arrested aftewards. He managed to run from the cops who chased him down. That created more hysteria from the crowd. Then the cops thought it was a good idea to let cars through the crowd on the street. So I think we all know what happened next: they tried to tip the cars over. Cops then saw that it wasn't a good idea and decided to re-route the traffic.
Wrigley is such a great place. What other city u know that celebrates all championships outside a ballpark?
Overall a great experience that i'll never forget and remember for the rest of my life. As a bandwagon jumper, i kept my celebration to a minimum. But one of the reasons why is that by looking at the ballpark, i couldn't help to think to myself, why couldn't this be that team? Now, every major team in Chicago has either ended their drought or at least made it to the biggest stage to try and win one. Except one. obviously we are the last team, and now the only team, but sometimes the biggest celebration has to be reserved for the last. Which is why I am confident that we will end our drought soon. I see this moment as inspiration. We may not do it this year, or next....but i am confident now that not only are we last and next, but we will end our drought soon. Mark my words....The Cubs are next
But enough of that, congrats again are in order to the 2010 Stanley Cup Champions, the Hawks....the Mighty, Blackhawks.What a time. What a moment. It's surreal. They had one goal all season. And they finally got that one goal. Mission accomplished.

'bandwagon' fans, question for you. Did this run at least somewhat turn you into a hockey fan? Or is this a celebrate now, and if the get knocked out next year I'm not watching the rest of the playoffs type thing?

I don't mind the bandwagon fan in hockey....really. The sport needs as much exposure/fans as it can get. It's a GREAT thing IMO.
*No reason why Big Buff shouldn't be scoring 30 goals next year....I called Chris Stewart last year to score 30, so Buff's my guy for the 2010-11 season....

y'all think big buff is staying put in chicago? his name gets thrown around as one of the hawks they might be in a different jersey next year.
No lie, it must really %%%%*+@ suck to be a Cubs fan right now. Your hated rivals won it in 2005, the Blackhawks won for the first time in almost 50 years and the Bulls are only 12 years removed from their last one and look like a lock to get the best basketball player in the world.
Here's to (hopefully) getting Kovy cheap, signing Martin and trading for Kaberle.

all i can say is that i hope they keep the core.
toews, kane, keith, hossa, campbell are signed to longterm i believe.
i sure hope they keep seabrook, bolland definitely. buff and niemi also if they can.
ladd, versteeg, brouwer, are all on the bubble and may end up leaving. who knows. maybe they can trade hossa. bowman will have a lot to think about this offseason.
or how about just talking to the players and see if some of them can take a pay cut and try do this all one more time next year. as long as the players are up for it and that they are not super money hungry i think they can all have the same roster. its up to them if they want back to back cup.

Blackhawks got A LOT of money tied up in Toews, Kane, Keith, Hossa....Buff is going to get a nice deal (whether he deserves it or not, who knows....main thing with him is CONSISTENCY. Hopefully he can keep this momentum into next season. Let's see if he can have some of that Vancouver Canucks-Todd Bertuzzi goal scoring ability.). 6'4" 265 pound PF's in the NHL don't grow on trees....It will be interesting to see what the Blackhawks do to re-tool for next season. There is so much damn parity in the NHL, and I love it. Yeah...ATFK, get that off-season thread going bro.
