**OFFICIAL NIKE TECH FLEECE/TECH KNIT THREAD** - SEE FAQ on First Page

250 or 200 for Nike sweatpants is bannaland. The "performance" aspect is minimal at best. All pure marketing. Not going to cut your mile time by 1 minute or anything

No piece of clothing or sneaker for that matter will just cut a minute off your mile. That comes with training. But there are obviously sneakers that can aid you to improve.

If you run a mile in an AF1 vs a Flyknit Racer you are going to feel a difference in the performance of each sneaker.

The same thing applies to the Tech Knit Windrunner. You will notice a difference.

At the end of the day it's all based on personal opinion. That's what "worth" is. To a serious runner the Tech Knit may well be worth the investment. To the average Joe the price may be appaling. It all depends whether or not you place value on the construction and technology used to produce these pieces.

i've bought more expensive and less expensive hoodies over the years, the fabric and hardware feels like it's priced correctly. if i had a complaint it'd be the same thing nike always does that wouldn't be acceptable on a piece of designer clothing, the finishing is never there. there's hanging threads all over the place on inside seams, it's to be expected being mass produced in china somewhere. would be unacceptable if this were a designer piece, but it's not, and it's also not as expensive
Spot on, Nike's quality control is abysmal, the last aw77 hoodie I bought I had to return 3 times until I got one that was acceptable.

Tech knit looks great. I like all of the colors which makes picking one of each to buy hard or I guess just get them all. How's the venting on the windrunner indoors at a place like let's say a Costco or casino? I sometimes get too hot inside with the tech fleece. If it doesn't get too hot indoors I'm sold on them. I know prices are high but at least I would wear them unlike all of the expensive designer clothes I got that I rarely wear at all as I work from home and only have to dress up when I have to meet with clients which is once or twice a week for three hours max.

I think the pricing is quite fair considering it's the same technology they use on the Flyknit sneaker line. Like I said, it's performance wear.

Flyknit is a scam too. It's textile. They make it on a loom like a t shirt. Pure profit and genius in their part to market it as some revolutionary tech (which Ina way it was). Nike marketing has successfully done their job if people believe 200-300 for a hoody and sweats are worth it. Personally that's insane although It does look really really nice.

But I'm not knocking anyone. If u like it and u feel it's worth it then hey why not. Don't let anyone tell u otherwise.

Stop flip flopping. Tech Knit is awesome, and it shows something new that people will try to replicate. Marketing is key for ANY product you put on the marketplace. Once you understand the concepts of how it was developed and which weaves and yarns are used it's much more than just a material we have seen before. The price point is high to attract higher end target markets. I almost feel like it should of been on their white label.

A scam? Now I'm starting to wonder if you even own any Flyknit product.

I don't think he did his homework before making these crazy statements

Bought a "few" of the Tech Knit pieces. I wanted to see the colors and determine which size fit the best.

Like most of the regular Nike clothes, they run larger than normal. I will stick with the size Large on the tops and bottoms.

I thought about sizing down in the hoodie to a Medium, just to see if I can get away with a tighter fit. I really like the Grey and Blue colors, so it will be a difficult decision. If they had made a Red color, I would have probably chosen that. The hoodie is really nice. If you are concerned about breathability, the under arm knit allows for a lot of ventilation.

The pants are interesting. They fit similar to regular Tech Fleece, but I am worried that these would stretch out after awhile. For the black pants, I would be careful washing them if you don't want them to fade in color. The Tech Knit fabric for the pants are a little weird. Nike chose to use the larger knit pattern instead of the smaller knit pattern. If you have seen photos of the shirts or hoodie, you can see the difference in knit type. I probably will keep the black pants or checkout the blue colorway once it hits retail Nike stores. Right now, I prefer Tech Fleece pants over these Tech Knit pants.

The Tech Knit shirts are similar sizing. Depending on the Nike collection, I will go between a Large or XL. On the Nike Running Dri Fit Knit, I generally wear a XL. In the Tech Knit, I will keep the Large. These shirts run longer than I expected. Not Yeezy Season clothing type of length, but about 1-2 inches longer than most other Nike shirts.

Of the Collection, in my opinion, the Hoodie and Shirts are keepers. I still am not sure about the pants, especially at the $200 retail price.

Obviously I would love it if these could be found in Outlets/Clearance Centers, but that wont happen until at least a few more months.

I can see Nike bringing out interesting colorways because of the Knit style they are using. Hopefully we see some bolder colors or patterns in the future.

Sadly that 250 price tag is why some will get them.

I dont think they look better than TF honestly and for that reason....

Yeah I was debating on ordering the black color, but the photos on the product page were just average. Also I have a bunch of black jackets/hoodies already.

Someone posted a photo of the black windrunner in sunlight, which caught my eye. I might change my mind when I see them in the stores next week.

Appreciate your insight! Did you take the hoodie out for a spin or anything and see how its zonal breathability work out?

Not yet, I got home and unboxed the gear. I can go for a short run in the hoodie tomorrow. I might wear the pants too but I prefer to run in shorts.

All up to you, but you don't have to run in them if you don't want to. Do you also have the Tech Fleece Windrunner? If so, what is the fit and size comparison? Someone mentioned that it is tight on the sleeves area

great review. and i thought the new pants didn't have cuffs, which caught my interest. I was gonna pick up some obsidian TF pants but was waiting to see if the new tech knit pants would be a better fit and better material to justify the $100 price increase. lengthwise, are they similar to TF?

The length seems to be similar to the Tech Fleece pants. I think because of the Knit fabric, they feel a bit looser than Tech Fleece though.

I wear a Large in the Tech Fleece pants, and they are pretty slim/tight ( which I prefer). The Large in the Tech Knit are a little roomier, but I think its the material that gives me that feeling.

u sound like i offended ur child lol. im not flip flopping ill probably never get tech knit because of the price even on sale.  im not saying they put zero thought into it and made a t shirt into a shoe and high priced clthing but what it really boils down to is  fabric with a different pattern weave. if it were that serious of a material it wouldnt shrink in the dryer lol. i own a ton of flyknit (since the beginning before the hype came along) and recently tech gear ( i love the tech line now) but even back when flkynit first dropped i was like yeah this is a great shoe but nike is making a killing its pure cloth. no matter how u phrase it or wanna market it or whatever its still a one piece textile.

to put it in perspective i used to buy 100% kangaroo leather soccer cleats for 125. the first tiempos. ur telling me its cheaper to kill a kangaroo, skin him, age the leather etc and make a shoe out of him than it is to make a shoe out of a yarn ball? i think not.

those "ventilation holes" idea came from the soccer jerseys whcih ive been buying for years. the 150$ authentic jersey comes with a slimmer fit, ventilation holes, and the fabric on the inside against ur skin is weaved differently for comfort. is it a lot nicer than the 75$ regular version? hell yea theyre mad comfy i got wind blowing on me 24/7 never get hot etc. i wish i could get more of them but the fact of the matter is that theyre still 150$ vs 75$ for a polyester jersey and for that reason ill only buy them when i see them at ross for 30$.

it's such a lame reason to justify buying an expensive *** hoodie but i work in an office environment and the hoodies, jackets, sweaters i usually wear I'll overheat then i'll take it off. then an hour later i'll put it back on cause i'm cold again. then take it off. I wore the tech knit hoodie the rest of the day once I got back to the office and didn't overheat, nor get cold. it's definetely made for Southern California weather, once the weather dropped to the low 60's the venting tells you maybe you should be wearing something warmer. but i'm pretty stoked, i finally have a jacket i can wear all day at the office and not overheat, it's the most first world problem i can think of, and couldn't be further from nike's sweat dripping uber athlete marketing ha but it is what it is

What's wrong me wanting to spend money on a product I'll wear a lot more? If I wasn't involved in high end real estate deals I'd rarely dress up or have a second work car just to take clients out. I'm at home most of the time and most times when I leave the home its to go shopping or running errands so if this tech knit is comfy and keeps me warm but not too hot where I gotta take the hoodie off then I don't mind the price. I know people in my company that spend much more money than I do on stuff like eating out at a strip restaurant five times a week at probably 200 per night or buy 10 to 20k carbon fiber bikes they ride once a week or 2000 buck tickets for 5th row seats to major ufc fights or mayweather fights. Sure if they were cheaper that would be nicer but they seem worth it to me and I don't want to wait for a few months for them to go on discount as they will be too hot to wear by then. I just want one pants and one or two hoodies. I'd pick up more when they go on sale and wait for next winter to wear them. I don't care how you spend your money. I'll spend my money anyway that I want.

It's worth it to some people and not worth it to others. Not much of a debate outside of that.

I'm in latter camp. Looks nice though.
