Man if he only understood these simple concepts. I'm not even going to attempt to talk to him about compounding. If anything, sneakers are to be used as a short-term investment. He has soles separating from his investments. No one believes the worth of his collection, at least not me.

Even if his shoes are worth 90K, let's say he and his mom are paying $1K less per month than what a decent sized apartment would cost. $90K/$12K=7.5 years worth of rent in a nicer and more spacious apartment (it would actually be more since apartments were obviously cheaper 8 years ago, but you get the point). Clearly his ugly shoes, tacky chains, and "zero overhead" are more important than taking care of his own mom though

If you have a choice between MAYBE making an extra $600 3 years from now or making a GUARANTEED extra $600 NOW by working an extra weekend, which one would you choose? A lot of you guys don't understand the value of time

Time as a family man is priceless... and today I wouldn't work an extra weekend no matter what.

However when I was single.. (partying till 2-3am then going to work at 9am) like back in the good ol 2000 retro era... yeah I had no problem spending time camping out on release dates.. reselling doubles.. making those connects with mom/pop shops.. I mean it wasn't a choice based on the value of time... it was a FUN hobby and I made some extra cash reselling.

Not sure why people are putting people down just cause their investment portfolio is different than the norm. Hell I know property owners with barely enough cash for their own living expenses but their net worth are still in the millions because of all the rental properties they own.

I don't usually care what somebody makes, but when you're bragging about how well off you are while you keep your mom in a shoebox sized apartment, it means your priorities are completely @#$@$@ up. When my dad started making money, he moved his mom out of the 1 bedroom apartment that he lived in with 4 other people. My grandparents and my aunt that takes care of them have been living in a 3 bedroom condo with a private driver ever since my dad has been able to provide for the family. My dad could've easily kept them in that 1 room shack that hasn't increased in rent prices in 30 years to "lower his overhead cost" and buy a couple of Rolexes instead.
