***Official Tattoo Thread: Inked-4-Life Vol.2***

Im aware of Randy's shop. His work has been inconsistent in my eyes but ill definitely look into Yatta.

I feel you bro. Randy used to tattoo me but I've been going to Yatta for about 6 years now. He's done my last 8 tattoos. His work is great man for real. Check him out.

And a couple of Instagram stuff:

This is amazing, im loving the artist's style.

Henry Lewis is sick and his style can be super loose sometimes. When I was getting tattooed, he seriously whipped out 2 tattoos within 4-5 hours where as mine wasn't even close to being done. Sometimes I feel tattoo artists spend a specfic amount of time depending on what kind of people their clients are. Like not everyone wants a crisp, clean tattoo nor do they want to pay a lot of money for long sits. Sometimes a tattoo is just a tattoo and not so much an art piece.

These are some Henry Lewis did that looks like it took some time to do:

His lettering is sick too and super different:

Fongstarr, I'm a regular lurker in this thread. I do appreciate the pics you put up every now and then haha. I wish you bumped it more often because I always search for this thread to see if there are any new pics everyday

No doubt man. I do feel like this official thread lost steam compared to the last one. It's expected I guess.

Some stuff. These are some photos I took from my friend's 1st session at a shop in SF called Cyclops Tattoo (http://www.cyclopstattoo.com). Never heard of them really but the lady is super nice. She has some tattoos from Marcus Pacheco who taught Grime how to tattoo at Primal Urge. If anyone is looking to get simple tattoos for a decent price, go there. I think this session was only $250.

Is that a 4 Horsemen of the Apocalypse tattoo? Sick :nthat:.

Religious imagery looks awesome when done well.

Jun is a gawd

Finally got some money to get started on my sleeve :pimp:

I gotta still check this local shop in MPLS... and touch base, hear some price quotes and look through their [artists] binders...

I wanna see Jun Cha's work with a regular camera though, and not the super nice ones that always make something look 5x better than what it is. He is an amazing artist, but my boy has his arm done by him and while it looks amazing and the quality is def there, it doesnt give me that "wow" that the pictures of his gives me.

That womans face tho, its so life like its scary

I wouldn't call Jun Cha's stuff life like. It still has an illustrative look to it with the hard lines with the hair and face. It's life like for a drawing but it's not like a replica of a photo. But from me looking at art my whole life, part of a portrait that sells its realism in the eyes. The way how every eye is perfectly drawn and is directed towards the viewer is what makes his stuff so good.

And this is a bad photo of Matt Kemp's tattoo but you can see how it is in real life as apposed to it being on Jun Cha's blog:

Jeezus, I did a little more of my upper arm today (right arm) to finish it off. It was brutal. I have just my inner elbow area and forearm to finish off, and the clouds under the quote.

Really going in on the tats this winter.

Its swollen as a *%@#)@#%@ right now.

Edit

Elbow is suppose to be swirl, just realized thats a terrible pic, it looks better in person. I should take non swollen pics...

Agreed, the color and the lighter shading of the color right under plus the white lines make it look real nice.

I wasn't too keen on what was posted but I do like this for some reason.

i feel you, might be too dramatic or weird for most. i appreciate the level of creativity and skill it takes to do those pieces more than anything. not something i would put on myself. i mostly put stuff like that up to show folks what is out there and what other peoples idea of a tattoo is.

Hey fong,

Ive been lurking this thread a while as well and after doing a lot of research I am giving serious consideration to getting my first tattoo done by henry lewis.  I was supposed to get a consultation a few months back but I broke my ankle and never got around to it.

I want to get an Andean Condor (my mom is from Chile) with the chilean quote of arms "por la razon o la fuerza" which means by reason or by force....

I think henry would be a good artist to go for this idea and im also wondering how much something like that is going to cost....
