Key questions about the Pistons' trade

Chris McCosky / The Detroit News
[h5]Key questions about the trade[/h5]
Where will Allen Iverson play? Most likely, he will be the starting point guard. Coach Michael Curry likes to use three-guard lineups, so you will see Iverson playing with Richard Hamilton and Rodney Stuckey.
Will this affect the team's offensive strategy? Initially, the hope is to keep the current motion-based offensive system, where all five players handle the ball and all are scoring options. Obviously, with Iverson and Hamilton both being volume scorers, some tweaking is inevitable. The initial guess is that Tayshaun Prince will revert to being a third or fourth scoring option.
Was this made for salary-cap space? Although this move saves the Pistons close to $36 million, that wasn't the impetus of the deal. The overall sense was that the team had gotten stale and needed a new source of energy.
Who are the prime free agents the Pistons could go after for next season? Next year isn't the prime free-agent class. Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh and LeBron James will hit the market in the summer of 2010. With the financial flexibility, the Pistons could look to re-sign Rasheed Wallace, Allen Iverson or both. Plus, they have Amir Johnson and Rodney Stuckey, whom they will have to re-sign after next season.
Will Iverson be here beyond this season? That all depends on how he fits and how much success the team has. Certainly Iverson isn't ready to retire. In fact, he says he has six more good years left.
What number will Iverson wear? Rodney Stuckey currently wears No. 3, and says he wants to keep it.
