So let me ask this.

the assumption that if a kid gets hit at home and is thus taken away from home is completely assinine. you need to look at how things really go. you'd be surprised how many kids get abused at home and absolutely nothing happens. system is all messed up. trust me i've spent near a decade having to work with these "service providers".

in regards to police brutality. one bad apple truly does...

Yeah this is a legit question but lets be serious

Not all cops beat children senseless for petty crimes. Just like not all kids are taken from parents who beat there kids.

If parents feel threatened physically and react by beating their child their kid won't get taken right away. You have to actually abuse your kid repetitively for no reason to lose it. Just like cops only react by beating a child if they feel physically threatened (yes sometimes they OD). If your kid is physically threatening you (the parent) on the regular then maybe you should just kick the kid out.

corporal punishment (physical discipline) is not illegal, just frowned upon like counting cards in casinos

Cops can do whatever they want.  Let's just get that out the way right now

But in alot if cases they do, and actually get away with it much easier than the very same person who gave birth to the kid was to beat them....sad man, sad. My grandma disciplined me with fear, she would beat my @*% if I stepped out of line, this was the norm back home (Colombia) kids feared their parents, no such thing exists here....%%*$ that.
But parents also get away with it. You think every parent that beats their kids has to pay for it? Not really...

I was just about to say when kids get taken away its usually for a LOT more than a beating.

Emotional abuse, sexual abuse and neglect are usually the culprits.
