Idk if its well known but if a coach is fired, does he get the rest of the contract salary? idk if coaches contracts are guaranteed like players

I'll answer that question with a photo of Mike brown immediately after he was fired as lakers head coach

Generally, yes, they're supposed to. Teams sometimes try to get out of paying though. Donald Sterling (surprise, surprise) was notorious for refusing to pay the coaches he fired. Bill Fitch and Mike Dunleavy (and I'm sure several others) had to sue Sterling to get paid after they got fired by the Clippers.

But, yeah, Mike Brown is probably still getting paid by both the Lakers and Cavs.

Yes they are. May not always be a 100% but the majority of it is guaranteed. Look at the Lakers, they still owe Mike Brown even though he was fired. The same should be said for D'Antoni but [conspiracy theory]The Lakers did shifty under the table things and made him resign and forfeit a portion of his salary [/conspiracy theory]

Although if a coach gets hired by another team the amount the former team owes is reduced.

So much hostility in this thread too soon

This is why we cant have nice nba season thread things

Windhorst didn't run into them  he knows he's just following LeBron around all day everyday

Nah, Nerlens is trash. If he wasn't 7'0, UK wouldn't have scouted him. If he can't score on Kelly Olynyk & Jared Sullinger, that's how you know your trash. Defensively, I can understand someone being high on Nerlens.
Blake has top 5 PF of all time potential, based on what you seen from him durind 09'-now? Yo, get this guy out of this thread. Someone please, get this NT'er outta' here.

Potential dummy.

When you see a Pf being all NBA and averaging 21 & 10 & 4 through 4 years....Playing winning Bbball and steadily improving every year.

Only a handful of PFs can do that or had that career trajectory.

Regular season wins is decent. Getting past the first round is impressive but when you have the roster the Clippers have and cannot get in the WCF. Y'all need' blow it up. Blake is partly to blame because he should be able to block shots at least three times a game and his mid-range comes and goes.

Just got home from work not too long ago and had to catch up on what y'all been talking about today   a few thoughts

1. Blake Griffin looked really good today. As usual, the work he puts in his game is evident. I don't know who laughed at BG being top 5 PF when it's all set and done. His career arch is definitely trending towards that way.

2. Julius Randle isn't even in the same stratosphere athletically as BG. Saw dude post a Hoopsmixtape reel as support and just laughed. Julius played all under the rim in college and I don't see that changing in the pros. Furthermore, Blake is proving to be a franchise level talent and could be historically great when he's done. Will Julius Randle be that good? I do not see it...not even close. Blake was 3rd in MVP voting last year, and Julius in all likelihood will never get that high on that list. He's just so raw offensively man, will he ever get 25 and 10 good?

3. Open Court is always good, but the episode that aired today was really good. Shaq amazes me. How can someone be so good at basketball, and yet be so bad for evaluating the sport. We're talking about the next 10, and you bring up T MAC AND PENNY HARDAWAY?!  regardless, I think the list was pretty good. I don't know who I would take off. I'm glad my guys KD and AI were recognized on that list, both in my eyes easily deserve it. With KD, although he's young, when you are that good that young you have to make it. He's already historically great. Hard to keep d wade off of that list as well.

4. C Webb thinking he's as good as Dirk, Duncan, and KG....

5. Wiggins looked exactly how I thought he would look today. Nice to see.

6. Man the idea of The Clippers going from 57 wins to not in the playoffs because of a coaching and owner situation is laughable. Come on man.

I laughed at Blake being top 5 PF one day. Entering his fifth season and I don't see a MVP award on the horizon. As long as CP3 is on that team, he'll be second fiddle. This is coming from one of Blake's fan boys as well, fellas..

The man knows nothing... he had absolutely zero knowledge about Lebron and his free agency this summer.

Dude is a joke, and is only employed because he was the fat dude that skeeted over a 16 year old basketball player from Akron then he wrote like 3 books about him  :smh:

Bro, you are aware that some of the best shot blockers of all time didn't get 3 a game most years? Mutombo's career block average is 2.8. Hakeem's is 3.1. The league leader is generally somewhere in the high 2s. What makes you think a power forward with relatively short arms should be an elite shot blocker? When are people going to learn that jumping high does not correlate directly to being a good shot blocker.

they sending brian windhorst back to cleveland? dude is definitely on lebron watch for the rest of his career
