since he dont play he will be getting an exact 14k yellow gold one (which is on its way) since he wants 1 yellow 1 white

& we dont need "paperwork" to confirm the authenticity of the assaying etc. because my word is GOLD

and saw a few for around $13-18k used, but look very clean.  Are
these not
legit, because they are that cheap?

Kinda wish I would have gone with the Yachtmaster... 

That Yachmaster is clean, but I like the Sub. If anything you should've went with the SubC. Still clean none-the-less.
