I need to download a program that only has support for Windows, on my Macbook Pro (newest gen if that matters).
I'm new to Mac, and my friend says there's "crossover" where you can run Window's programs without installing Windows, on a Mac. Anyoneknow how this works?
Doesn't make sense to me

Will it just run when I install it, or do I have to download something else?

If you are on a budget. Then yes that is definitely worth the money. If you plan on using it for music, school, and videos. Definitely worth themoney.

That is a real good deal. I assume it doesn't have the newer graphics card but regardless I'd def cop if I was in the market still.

i have a western digital portable 250 gig that I carry with me.... At home I have a Seagate Freeagent Pro i think thats what its called... 750 gig.... bothhave worked great

Man my external HD is not being recognized by my MBP. If it helps, I just got it for my birthday, it's a Western Digital My Book Essential 2.0 1TB. Itdidn't come with any install software, but I tried to DL some drivers. Nothing seems to work. Any help?

hybrid on vmware is whats up.. i use it all the time when i need to do programming in windows
phinsfan, i have a mybook 500gb.. most wd are plug and play.. if you have a problem with it assuming you haven't gotten anything on it yet.. go to discutilities and see if its recognized there.. you might need to format it to mac os extended journaled first

i have a 500gb simple tech external hd. i got it for cheap because it was on sale.
it wouldnt be my brand of choice, but so far i have had no problems with it and i've had it for over a year now. hopefully it doesn't die within a yearor two.
i also have an old 2.5" 40gb internal hard drive i got maybe about 5 years ago. i just bought an enlcosure not too long ago. it's great, very portableand cheap.
also you should download this plugin for mac osx that lets it WRITE on to NTFS formats
. i have it on mine and if i can find it i'll post it.
it sucks that mac os x can only originally write to FAT 32 which has a max file transfer of 4gb, so when you're trying to transfer HD movies and extremelylarge files, you cant transfer. but if you have your drive formatted to ntfs, you can transfer any sized file
