^ Ah, right, thanks. I guess I was thinking of the 1.4 AF-S which is just under $600 here in HK... having said that, the normal 1.4 is around $300.

Point being, get ready to pay more for AF-S lenses if one decides to get a Nikon without the AF motor.
Incidentally, the 1.8 AF-S here is around $230, while the normal 1.8 is just over $100.

Haven't posted in this thread in a long time. Anyway, some shots I took this past weekend:

just copped a 17-40L and a 135L( picture was taken with a 5dc + 135L)


The 5dc + 135L is a ridiculousness combo. Pretty damn sharp at f2

Great pictures everyone, I usually lurk this thread and rarely do I ever post anything (I guess you could say that about any thread on NT), but I've def. seen lots of improvement from the guys that post in here consistently. Keep it up & keep shooting. 
I myself have finally took the next step and moved on to FF. I sold my old body and my 70-200 f/4 L in order to upgrade to a 5D MK II. Right now I'm torn between the 24-70 f/2.8, or the 24-105 f/4. Even though I say torn, I'm def. leaning towards the 24-70, it's one of those things where I don't want to be in the middle of a shoot and wish that I had the 2.8 instead. Anyone want to confirm this and/or make me think twice?

imo, i'd def get the 24-70. 2.8 > 4 in this case. my fav 'walk around-vacation-all around type' lens.


my cam fell off my shelf and is gone for repairs, broke my external flash too
