Lately, we've been having some problems with users attempting to submit inappropriate avatars, pictures, and posts to our forums, to the point where it's clear that many of you need a refresher course on NikeTalk's policies. 

From our rules page:  
3. Images, including those used for personal icons, must be appropriate for all ages. Images that show illegal drug use, graphic depictions of violence or are sexually provocative are not acceptable. These include "booty" pictures, illegal drug images, and anything containing graphic" violence. These restrictions apply to videos and links to outside sites as well.  Do not link to ANY video or site containing slurs, profanity, or other inappropriate content.

The use of graphic sexual language is also prohibited.  

This has been our policy since we opened our doors thirteen years ago. 

Basically, if it's not safe for work, it's not safe for NikeTalk.   Our forums are intended for a wide audience.  

If you violate these rules, not only will you be held accountable but, for better or worse, our entire community is held accountable as well.

We currently rely on Google AdSense to help us cover the costs of hosting and maintaining this website.  

They have a similar policy to ours and, when users are following the rules, there should be no conflict. 

There have been so many violations of late, however, that AdSense units have been pulled from the General forum.   You'll notice that, at the moment, there are no ads on the General forum page at all.  As the General forum is currently our most popular forum, this is a significant problem. 

These are the rules that users are breaking on our site that also carry consequences for our website as a whole:  
ADULT/SEXUALLY GRATIFYING: As stated in our program policies, AdSense publishers are not permitted to place Google ads on pages with adult or mature content. This includes images or video content containing lewd or provocative poses, or close-ups of breasts, butts, or crotches.  More information about this policy can be found in our help center (https://www.google.com/adsense/support/as/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=105957  ).

ADULT/SHEER SEE THROUGH: As stated in our program policies, AdSense publishers are not permitted to place Google ads on pages with adult or mature content. This includes images or video content containing strategically covered nudity, as well as sheer or see-through clothing.  More information about this policy can be found in our help center (https://www.google.com/adsense/support/as/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=105957  )

Violations can also be text only - which we have had recently as well:

ADULT/EXPLICIT TEXT: As stated in our program policies, AdSense publishers are not permitted to place Google ads on pages with adult or mature content, including sexually explicit text.  More information about this policy can be found in our help center ( https://www.google.com/adsense/support/as/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=105957  ).

It's not JUST about violating some arbitrary policy or about basic consideration for other users who may be browsing in public places, homes with young children, etc. 

Such violations are hindering our ability to maintain our community and raise money for charity.  

We have to do better.  

Be sure to follow our forum rules at all times and if you do come across a violation, please click the little flag image beneath the offending post to report it to our staff for removal.

keep rolling with it. when I was 19 I had 3 at the same time, one was treating me like a king, I started to catch feelings and I let her go. 

so my advice is, don't get sucked up, you do that by not spending too much time with one.

And yet, you did nothing.  Almost none of you did. 

If you value something, you accept responsibility for it.  

If you value your home, you take responsibility for it.  If you value your relationships, you take responsibility for them.  

You guys claim to value this thread, and yet you continue to treat it like a garbage dump.  

Should rule violations continue to go unreported, this thread is getting locked.  And I'm not talking about a one week "and this time, I mean it" lock.  I'm done with it.  If you guys don't care about it, why should I?  

The whole "I saw it coming", "this is why we can't have nice things" talk is useless.  You had the chance to take action when the violations appeared.  99% of you chose not to.  That is not good enough.

If it were just a "few bad apples", I could restrict them from the thread and that would be that.  Unfortunately, that's not it.  

The fact is, as a whole, you guys are too lazy to give a damn about what goes on in here.  Virtually nothing gets reported and it just becomes a garbage dump.  So, if that's how it's going to be, and you guys can't be bothered to make any effort at all, why should I allow it?  

It's time to stop saying "it's not me, it's somebody's else's fault."  No.  Somebody else may be posting the violations, but they get quoted fifty times more often than they get reported.  That's not "everybody else's fault."  That's the fault of this thread's participants as a group.  

If YOU don't care enough to hit the report button, then you won't miss this thread when it's gone.  But don't say, "No, that's unfair!  We love TAN!  It's my favorite thread on NT" and then treat it - and our community - like a rented toilet.  

NikeTalk is worthwhile because we cared enough to take responsibility for its upkeep.  We work very hard to maintain a safe, respectful atmosphere.  I'm not asking you guys to clean up the mess.  All I asked was that you help us identify violations in a timely manner so the thread could keep going.  If you can't even be bothered to do that, forget it.  

Whether this thread exists or not is entirely in your hands.  If even FIVE of you reported violations consistently, I could deal with it.  Five.  Is that beyond the mighty TAN clique's capabilities?  

It's bad enough to have set the bar so low only to be disappointed time and time again.  But how sad is it to have the bar set THAT low and STILL see you guys throw up your hands in exasperated defeat, like I'm asking the impossible of you?  

"Oh, if we want to keep it then two of us have to do one jumping jack each....  Welp, it was nice while it lasted TANFAM.  #NothingGoodLastsForever"

Not as much as you love your callow "stop snitching" platitudes, apparently.  This isn't selling someone out to serve as grist for the prison industrial complex.  It's a message board.  

If someone posts porn in here, they don't go to jail.  Their children don't have to grow up without a parent, or without that parent's earning potential.  Nothing truly significant happens to them.  But we have the potential to lose the ad support that keeps this site online, and helps us finance donations that build schools and libraries, provided disaster relief support, and so on.  All the "real" consequences are on our side.

Does anyone have an authentic picture of a flat tire that they can post in here? A tumblr of flat tires if you will.

I just want to be clear, just so I know what I should be looking for, are the booty gifs what Meth is referring to as the rule violations, or was there something that I missed whilst asleep.
