Was that Friga sending an image of herself to talk to Loki or did Loki conjure up that image of Friga himself?

I wish they would've kept the deleted scene where it turns out that Loki was just projecting all of that in his head and there was really no interaction.

Movie-wise, it did fit in as she was his motivation to help out Thor initially, until he saw a chance to take advantage of an opportunity for his selfish goals, then he did was his character was supposed to do.
