TOP 5 GROUPS IN HIP-HP HISTORY?

Goodie Mob should get some honorary mention btw

Me personally i'd put them before acts like C-N-N, Hot Boys, The Clipse

I understand not liking the music, but regarding the HISTORY of hip-hop, you'd be hard-pressed to find a group as innovative as them. Not to mention their longevity and overall impact on the game. And after all these years and 3 Stacks venturing out into singing and acting, when they come together they STILL drop straight HEAT--"Royal Flush" anyone? There aren't many rap groups that have that kind of longevity and are successful with it(AKA, still make good, quality music).

Again, we all have our personal preferences and tastes. You don't have to like Outkast on the musical tip. But if you claim to be heavy into this thing we call hip-hop, you have got to respect and recognize these dudes for what they are and what they've accomplished.

i dont have them in my top 5, i respect them to the fullest, i love their first 3 album but i just think their are better groups that made better music

2001 The original album cover art depicted group members Pam the Funkstress and Riley standing in front of the twin towers of the World Trade Center as theyare destroyed by huge explosions; Riley is pushing the button on a guitar tuner. The album's planned release date was just after the events of theSeptember 11, 2001 atacks and the cover art was withdrawn hastily. The cover art was finished in June 2001; there was no connection between the band and theattacks. The album release was held back as alternative cover art was prepared.

2006's best album hands down...
http://s172.photobucket.com/albums/...ion=view&current=thecouppickabiggerweapon.jpg -The sick, original, funk influenced beats. -Socialist,intelligent, humorous lyrics. Rapping against capitalism, police brutality, sexism, and racism definitely make listening to The Coup an intellectualexperience, and throw in some humorous (often violent) lyrics and you've got yourself one of the greatest rap groups of all time. Oakland-based rappers theCoup are about as adamantly political as hip-hop comes

YO! south sole... nobody will dig that. But "Fat Cats, Bigger Fish" is one of the greatest rap songs ever.

I still havent seen a top 5 that topped mine. lol. "come n get meeeee"! lol
