TX Muslim student arrested after bringing homemade clock to school. vol SMH

And what does that have to do with the school's poor handling of this situation?

And don't think you realize that all this you're posting doesn't make the dad look bad at all.

So how should the school have handled it? Evacuated the school and called the bomb squad? Yeah, that wouldn't have caused an uproar. Maybe they should have just ignored their suspicion that the bomb-looking box might have been a bomb because they don't want to make Muslims feel some type off way.

If they really though it was a bomb.......................Then YES!

When I was in HS there was a bomb threat and that is exactly what happened, and that was for a called in bomb threat. We evacuated, got away from the school, and waited for hours while the bomb squad and FBI swept the school

They clearly didn't think that.

And after confirming it wasn't a bomb, they proceeded interrogate the kid for hours, not call his parents, and then handcuff him

This is a story only because of the school's and police's poor handling of the situation.

yes..... i would expect those type of reactions to a bomb in a school.... or any business location for that matter.

Cool. So your issue isn't that the suspicious *** box was assumed to be a bomb. Your issue is with the fact that the school didn't do more to protect the children from it.

Oh, I see. So it is OK to assume that they were being racist against a Muslim boy for carrying a fake bomb to school, but it isn't OK to assume that they thought it was a real threat. :rolleyes

my issue is they didn't really think it was a bomb...

they unlawfully interrogated a minor without his parents there.

unlawfully detained him and handcuffed him with no true evidence of wrongdoing...

this is why this is a news story....

Are you even listening to yourself

The kid told them it was a clock, he told everyone who asked. You're entirely argument is based on the assumption that "HEY! it clearly looks like a bomb, and the kid knew that, and did it to get a reaction"

You have in no way proven that is the case

Lmao. You don't even believe that. This is a news story because he was a Muslim kid and it could be painted as racist. Obama jumped all over it the same day.It is an attempt to make Texas look bad as well. The kid already has a gofundme account and is surely going to file a lawsuit. Have you read any of the mainstream articles about this?

I guess that the Boston bombers could have just told the police that they were building a crock pot and it would be all good.

huh...

if it was a white kid who has his constitutional rights stepped on... you bet the freedom fighters/tea partiers etc. would be all over this....

I would still be pissed...

alex jones would be talking about the police state...

etc etc...

seems like you're too focused on race.

And there it is.

As my brah GWAP would say, you just exposed yourself.

Argues this isn't about profiling Muslims as terrorist................Compares this kid situation to Muslim terrorist

Nah, it seems like the mainstream media and the president are. Plenty of white people have their constitutional rights trampled every day.

Cats in here talmbout Tea Partiers and birth certificates, but I'm the one generalizing. LOL. Ok Obama's supposed fake birth certificate is the same as Bush supposedly rigging the election.

I could change that statement to "I guess that Timothy McVeigh could have just told the police that he was dropping off fertilizer."

Does that work better for you?
Still the same point, which you haven't and will never address. All you ever do is try to attack sources, but never the issues.

Is evacuation what they're supposed to do for a perceived bomb threat? Even in a hoax situation?

I don't know procedure but I'm confident interrogation of an unsupervised minor isn't part of it. So tell me more about how they did their job correctly when you just agreed a bit ago they shouldn't have interrogated him.

Didn't that poptart kid wave it around pretending it was a gun? I don't agree he should have been suspended by the way. That's stupid.

Which brings me back to my point: stupid people make life hard.

Yes, it is. At least for my school it was.

We had 3 or 4 during a school year and each time the school was evacuated.

JChambers, you aren't going to win. This site is very left borderline socialist.

This was a media hoax. Numerous agendas were at play based on how fast Obama and STEM companies got involved. He became a media darling overnight when he brought this on himself. Common sense went out the window here. When the engineering teacher said don't let anyone see it, my first action would have been to put it in my locker not power it up and set the alarm. He paints the English teacher as a bigot by telling the media he made it for her and she was terrified.

Did the police handle this badly? Yep but even if they called his parents, they would have spun the story that the teacher was a racist. This was a huge ploy concocted by his father and he's coached all the way through and they've definitely come out on the good end. He's gotten internship offers he's not qualified for at his age and he's being plastered everywhere as the face of racial hatred when this isn't the case. Obama didn't call Kiera Wilmot when she was expelled from school. What changed now? If anything, she should have resonated more with you since she could be one of your daughters. Why did CAIR get as quickly as involved as they did? They were on speed dial from the jump.

What evidence do you possibly have to prove the part I bolded?

The job/internship offers, the media appearances, receiving product from companies looking to get their 15 minutes. His father has been in the national news before. You don't think he knows how to create and work a situation to his benefit?

I'm not saying his father doesn't know how to do that. I'm just saying this could have all been an honest reaction from everyone.

Yeahhhhhh

And I have address the point a couples times, you just seem like you don't want to listen. The point your making makes no types of sense

The police could have looked in McVeigh's fan, confirmed it was a bomb and then evacuated, arrested dude, and called in bomb squad

Same thing the Boston bombers

-But in this case, the school and police acted as if there was no threat because the didn't evacuated, call in bomb squad, and the threw the "bomb" the back seat.

From threw action it seems like they confirmed there was no threat, but then proceeded to cuff, interrogate and deny this kid access to his parents for hours.

So why not do all the other stuff, but detain the kid like that?

-BTW: screw your comparison. You still trying to compare this kid to a terrorist why?

-And YOU still haven't answer the question posed to you a couple pages ago. How the hell could the father predict the school's, the police's or the nations reactions.

Because this is only a story because of the school's actions.

They brought him in because they thought that he was involved in a bomb hoax. They didn't charge him with anything, and let him go to his parents. What is the problem? Why is the president tweeting about it? Why is the school being sued? Why is Niketalk up in arms about the social injustice? Why is the administration demonizing the school and the teachers? It was a setup. I have provided enough evidence. Most of the posters here are too blinded and set in their ways too see it. If a Muslim child bringing a bomb to school has no relation to terrorism in your mind, then I don't know what to tell you.Good luck.

-They cuffed the kid and detained him for hours without speaking to his parents, and a pic of them doing it got out. What's why they this blew up

So please stop acting like the school and police were just doing its due diligence. Because if they really thought it was a bomb, they failed all the other kids and parents in that school with their actions

-You have provide ZERO hard evidence to provide it was a set up besides a infowars  link. Hell this "evidence" you claim you provided can't even be described as circumstantial

It requires some Olympic level mental gymnastics to reach the conclusion you want us to reach

So get outta here trying to call dudes blind because they refuses to buy into your conspiracy theory
