How's the dev community with Exynos phones? An SGS6 might be up for consideration for me. The Snapdragon 810 ain't looking like it's all made out to be. If the SGS6 has front-facing stereo speakers, my decision's been made.

Okay, Nexus 6 users...

As some might have seen on the last page or two, I've got a Note 4 which has been fine, but there are lags with things like the camera, the recents, and apps in general. The battery works great for me and I haven't really had a problem with it.

I'm wondering if you Nexus users could give me your thoughts on the phone now that you've had it for a few months. Is the camera holding up? How's the battery? Software performance?

I think I might do a switcheroo in the next week or two here but I wanted to get your thoughts and experiences now that it's been out in the wild for some time.

Is the camera holding up?

The camera was not one of the main selling points as I typically have my DSLR with me. However, for someone who would like to have a decent picture here or there, I say that it does the job just fine.

How's the battery?

Battery life is pretty good with light use; I get a day easily with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on. I have a Pebble synced at all times and I haven't experienced any substantial impact on battery life.

However, I am aware that this will not always be the case due to the battery being enclosed. (yes I know you can remove the back panel and replace the battery so this may be a non-issue). Also, I work at a desk to I always have a charger nearby. If you are on the move a lot and are a heavy user, the battery life may cause some headaches.

Software performance?

Brilliant!! I haven't experienced any lag and transitions are buttery smooth! I personally hate TouchWiz and I am on ATT (still have unlimited) which complicated a few things in terms of rooting my old device.

Limited storage options are a big turnoff for most people. I use Google Drive and stream most of my music (only because I have unlimited) so this isnt much of an issue for me. I use my Nexus 7 for movies, reading and travel so this lightens the load.

Overall, the phone works for me and how I have set my environment up.

Let me know if you are interested in anything else.

Verizon has the refurbished Note 4 for 489.99.

Its unlocked for all carriers you just have to make sure it has the bands you need.

Copped one for the wifey so I can get mine back :smh:

Quick question, can anyone tell me why when i added music to my HTC ONE (M7) last night only like 10% showed up in the music app? I searched my file library where my music is located and all of the songs i added are still there, but the music app itself doesn't see them.

Before on my htc mytough4g slide i had to occasionally mount and unmount the sd card and this fixed it. you cant do this with an htc one. what should i do?

This is great information. Thanks for sharing.

Could you (and other N6 users) tell me how you handle the curved back on flat surfaces?

Official 5.0 went live for the 1+1 today...

Does showbox still work?
You sure it was the 5.0 update? I had read that is was a pretty large 4.4.4 update to "tie up some things" before they drop the 5.0 update later this month.

I could be wrong though. Haven't really seen anything on it today.

Edit:

Yea here is an article on it http://www.phonearena.com/news/OnePlus-One-users-start-receiving-new-CyanogenMod-update_id65794

The OnePlus One, as expected, starting receiving the latest CyanogenMod update OTA on Monday. Version 05Q is based on Android 4.4.4 and brings to the handset new features such as having the SwiftKey third party virtual QWERTY available as your default keyboard (without having to install it from the Google Play Store). The update also enhances NFC connectivity and improves sound by adding audio processor MaxxAudio by Waves.

The updated OnePlus One now offers a feature called continuous focus that allows you to change the focal point of the rear camera from near to far while in the process of taking pictures. Infinity is a new focus option that improves the autofocus while taking a distance shot. In addition, there is a nice list of bugs that have been fixed and a number of new capabilities have been added. Ironically, one of the new additions is a progress bar that lets you track an FOTA update. To update your OnePlus One, head over to Settings/About/Software update.

The update comes just three days before OnePlus makes its own OxygenOS available on February 12th. The flat looking OS was originally developed as a workaround in India after Cyanogen signed an exclusive deal with handset manufacturer Micromax in the country. An Indian court originally banned the Cyanogen flavored OnePlus One in India, but the order was later temporarily reversed when the judge realized that the Micromax phones powered by Cyanogen were entry-level models as compared to the high-end OnePlus One.
