Whether y'all agree or disagree with the emphasis being placed on beats nowadays, they play an integral part in making someone decide if they wanna play your track out or cut that **** off 30-45 seconds in
If you can get good beats you can get people to listen regardless if you can actually rap or not
So with that said I figured we should have a discussion on who ya'll think has the Best/Worst ear
Best
Rick Ross- As far as best goes I think Rick Ross should be one of the first names mentioned, I'm not really even a fan of dude like that but I don't think anybody can deny he picks some of the best beats out whether it's an album or mixtape.
Game - Not really the biggest Game fan either save for his few couple albums but I have and will continue to consistently check for his music because I know he's gonna have some good beats
2 Chainz - Before he switched up he was the generic ATL rapper, after the switch he made his **** a little simpler and added in witty punchlines but the main thing was him picking good *** beats to do the heavy lifting. Even tho his latest album kinda flopped due to majority of his buzz being gone I still thought the production was still solid.
Juicy J - He was able to reinvent himself in a similar way to 2 Chainz by aligning himself with some good producers.
Gucci - Call me a stan, say he garbage etc. this ***** picks some damb good beats straight up
Worst
Jadakiss - I used to **** with dude tough and thought he would've been way bigger than he is now but I understand why, he just can't get good beats. And it's not like he just worked with bad producers, dude has worked with everybody and still just gets subpar beats
Nas - This one was a given, arguably the best rapper but the beats he pick are downright atrocious sometimes. I can't even put in words the amount of struggle it is trying to get some ****** in the South listen to Nas go in over a weak *** beat
Canibus - Another dude with bars for days that can't pick a good beat to save his life
I'll prolly add more as I think of them, who y'all got?
