Dybala playing with something to prove is gonna be a welcome sight,Juve did him dirty objectively

If Juventus actually sell Dybala and Mandzukic for Lukaku i dont know what to say.

Also combine with them taking Danilo and cash from us for Cancelo.

Just very confusing moves all around

I disagree there were better options for cheaper. Militao already went to Real, Skriniar/Romagnoli/Koulibaly/etc weren’t available, MDL chose Juve over us, and the rest of the candidates (the Ruben Dias/Diop/Milenkovic/etc tier) are still prospects and are not better than Slabhead right now. They may be in the future, but United didn’t need a prospect CB - we needed someone ready to lead the line from day one. And with Maguire, that’s exactly what we got. I don’t disagree with £80M being extremely steep, but it was still the best possible move for the team right now imo.

Harry getting us back in CL next year will be many millions alone. Putting that in perspective, it really helps to justify the price imo.

I disagree. While Harry is good, he won't be the reason you guys get CL next season if you make it. It will be because you finally started to score goals. You guys struggled to find the goals from your front three last year. Your backline wasn't the best, but I don't think that was the reason why you didn't make top 4.

Toby Alderweireld was available for as little as 24M, Lewis Dunk went for 45, Nathan Ake was available from Bournemouth, Wily Boly from Wolves, and Matthias Ginter from Dortmund could have all been had for a cheaper price than Maguire. And that isn't even counting the players you named already. Pairing Lindelof with anyone of them would have been just as good or better.

The market is inflated for CB's right now because everyone thinks they have VVD or are looking for the next one. Player development is one of the best ways to ensure that you don't have to pay $80-100M. Pool were fortunate to be able to afford him because they fleeced Barca. Ya'll are rich and can afford it, but that's alot to spend on Maguire.

Juventus is doing some weird moves, along with potentially letting Kean go to Everton when he is their best promising young striker.

They’re selling everyone. Dybala, Mandz, Cancelo....

At this rate, Florentino should just try to get Ronaldo back, maybe Juve will sell him back for half the price. At least El Clasíco would be fun again, plus Ronaldo would constantly yell at all his RM teammates for being lazy. It’d be great entertainment.

I know spurs doesn't like to spend money, but with Foyth looking like he tore his achilles, they should be all over Cancelo to fill that RB hole

Lucas Vasquez and Nacho for Ronaldo swap deal, seems fair
Throw in a mildly used Mariano Diaz if they aren't budging

I hope you become Chelsea’s next DoF if you think those targets are even remotely on Maguire’s level. I’ll give you Toby, but he also didn’t necessarily want to join United/was asking for massive wages and 5 year deal at which point he’d be 35... I like Toby, but that wasn’t the answer.

Goal scoring wasn’t the issue this past year, we conceded 54 goals including 12 from set pieces in the CL. Between Maguire and AWB, I would bet on us conceding <40 this year which translates to more than enough points to finish top 4. We had minimal defensive aerial presence, one of Maguire’s biggest strengths. We got exactly who we needed.

I’m not Lukaku’s biggest fan but you lot are massively underrating him.

Touch leaves a lot to be desired, but I think he’s easily a 20-goal guy in Serie A next year. He’s an intelligent footballer and will partner well with Ronaldo imo.

Dybala/Lukaku swap does feel like united are getting the much better part of the deal from player talent standpoint, but both players will do better with their new team than they would in their current team’s setup. It’s a win for everyone imo.

Oh so now Lukaku is gonna score 20 goals for Juve, oh ight.

You obviously don’t watch Italian football. By far the hardest league to score goals in, everyone parks the bus.

I think most people feel the swap is lopsided because dybala is supposed to be considered one of the best players at his position. In terms of top attacking midfielders, he's definitely up there.

Is Lukaku a top striker? I personally would say no. He even played a lot better out wide some games this past season than being central.

Both are good players, but I think Dybala has a lot more potential to be greater than what he's already shown.

Kinda know what you're going to get from Lukaku at this point in his career.

Yea.. I'm not wiling to bet that a guy that's scored more than 20 goals only once in his career is just going to come into the hardest league to score in and start bagging 20+ goals a season consistently

a 36 year old was the top scorer last season, it isn't THAT defensive of a league

Wily Boly was one of the best CB's in the league last year in a good wolves team while Lewis Dunk showed his quality in a **** Brighton team last season and now he's a full fledged England International. They don't have the name recognition of Maguire but they are just as good if not better than him. Plus, they would've paired well with Lindelof. Ya'll been spending like crazy for years and it hasn't gotten you anywhere.

Goals scoring was an issue for y'all last year. The lack of goals was one of the biggest reasons why you didn't make top 4 last year. Pogba was your top scorer last year bro. let that sink in.
Ya'll couldn't find the back of the net. Fair enough on Toby. He would've been a good stop gap while you develop your young players for the future.

The most disappointing thing about all of this is we’re not gonna see Dybala play for Sarri. I just wanted to see Sarriball with Dybala and Ronaldo and Costa. The Sarri ball that made Napoli so great to watch in 2016. Apparently that’s what Sarri WANTED too....

But Nedved is out here smoking dust.

Quaglierella scored 26, Zapata 23, Piatek 22 last year. Immobile scored 29 the year before, heck Higuain scored 16 that year too.

Lukaku not taking PKs will hurt but I still think he gets 20 next year. He’s top 20 all time in the premier league, the guy can score and will have better service at Juve than he did at United last year (when he still had 12)

Lukaku will do well in Serie A, I mean Inter also wanted him before Juve decided to block off Conte's attempt at getting him. Now getting 20 goals may be a stretch, but 15-18 goals partnering with Ronaldo wouldn't be bad.

Still don't think getting rid of Dybala and Kean to make way for Lukaku is a good move for Juve, especially in the long term.

The same 27 y/o Lewis Dunk with one int’l cap that Maguire starts ahead of for England? Maguire is a full tier above. Same with Boly. I wholeheartedly agree Maguire was more expensive than he should have been (three or four years ago) but the transfer market is a different beast now. He’s a superior player to any of those guys and a year younger.

United scored 65 goals in the league last year, that’s 2 more than Chelsea... we weren’t ruthless by any means in front of goal, but trust me it was the leaky defense that was our downfall as a whole.

Both areas need to improve this year, that’s for sure. With Maguire + AWB in defense and Dybala + possibly Bruno up front, I’m very confident both areas will be improved.

Yea, exactly.

Dybala was going slide into that role Mertens played; Getting in behind the defenders and moving out in wide positions to create chances with other players.

I definitely thought it was going to workout well.

Dybala was definitely lost last season when playing with Ronaldo.

Do you understand that CRISTIANO RONALDO is his teammate?!?!

Are you really under the impression that Lukaku is going to score 20 plus goals, in the most tactically defensive league in Europe, while Cristiano Ronaldo is his teammate?

I think Benzema got 20+ goals one time while being CR7’s teammate, and La Liga sprays in goals for fun.

Put your money where your mouth is bro, you’ve had the trashiest takes all damn summer. Put some money up, I’ll match it. (And I still know you never watch Ruben Dias play all but one time, so stop commenting on him)
