🎾 OFFICIAL AGASSI RETRO THREAD 🎾

You are right. I swear there was 4 or 5 left a few days ago /:
But the last one left is 8.5 so there is some validity to what I am saying.

Hunting down old shoes that I missed or beat up and there are rarely anything above a size 9

I got my 2014 Hot Lavas today and honestly, I'm very disappointed. The 2014 Hot Lava color is nowhere close to my 2008 Hot Lava. The 2014 Hot Lava looks watered down. I don't even know if it's beater worthy. I've also noticed that the splatter was shiny on the 2014 pair. I can see why some people returned these. Pics coming soon-

Man you're looking for Hot Lavas in an 8.5? I have an 8 I could alley-oop you at retail + ship.

lol i don't know anyone who returned their pair.  a large portion of people in this thread believe '14 > '08.  not beater worthy?  silliest thing i've heard in a while.

I was thinking the same thing... not even worth wearing to the point of destroying them? lol That's definitely a new one.

Either way, I had the OG's my senior year in high school (yes, I'm old) and beat the hell out of them.  Made the mistake of passing on the '08 retros when I could have gotten them for $69.99, but after over 20 years, I finally got another pair and I'm very happy with them.

http://bit.ly/1jgRIg1 apparently we're not past the misguidance some people received when the ATC3 was retroed and billed without the "3" designation, and was subsequently followed by the 2s, making people think the 3s were actually the 1s. But I thought I'd share this horribly laughably misinformed seller's auction for some overpriced non-originals. I'm really not sure whether to be laughing more than disappointed.

^ Yeah, this misconception appears from time to time.  Certainly not the first time it's had to be clarified! Won't be the last too! Lol.

No I am saying if you ever want to find older shoes its those size 8-9s are always the only sizes you can find. Practically childrens feet. The 12 year old who owned them last likely outgrew them before he wore em.

Most people don't eem know what the 1s look like. :lol. And Nike own fault for not numbering the shoes for the retro

-And too the dude saying the Huranches should get a pass cause it has a different name. I couldn't disagree more. People wanted a retro, not a lazy fuax hybrid. This would be like Nike retroing the Foamposite One as the Air Max Foamposite One and throwing the Penny 2 or Penny 1 sole on it. People would have went nuts at such stupidity.

If I were Nike. And I would have waited till Wimbledon of this year. Release both a Huarache and ATC3 pair, then follow the trend just the same like the ATC2. Them the next year the Futures and the ATC4. Every pair done right. That way you satfiy true fans of the shoe, and feed the beast to build hype for the regular releases.

I've been getting lots of good comments about my Clays. They are a really nice shoe. It's just a shame that they're made so poorly compared to the slams.

Nobody outside of us can probably even remember the OG Air Challenge Hua though. I see people picking up the black ones in Niketown and saying "Look at these new Jordans". People aren't going to go nuts at such stupidity because hardly anybody is even going to buy them in the first place.

The retro ATC II aren't even the same as the OG anyway. The sole is different on those too, the colours also. Nobody is giving the II's a hard time though.

The ATC II slams will likely be the only Tier Zero model because Andre Agassi stated that it was his favourite shoe, and they tied it into him re-signing with Nike. I highly doubt there will be any more slam models personally. It'd be a pointless exercise on Nike's part.

Getting kind of nervous over the EU Lava release. I heard Overkill in Berlin will be getting only 15 pairs, other big shops don´t get them at all. Hopefully the demand won´t be too big.

Brah how can you compare the changes on the ATC2 to the Huarache. The intentionally got the shoe wrong. Anyone can accept minor changes in color or proportions when Nike actually tries to recreate the shoe true to the OG.

But they intentionally changes the Huaraches for what? Maybe because if the retro the 3s and 4s next it will save them a few dollars.

Just look at what they are doing with the FP1 now. To save some money they use the Exposed sole.

-The slam models build hype for the shoe. And now matter how you slice it, retro release only sell when the beast flood in and buy them too. And I was just saying what i would do personally to move shoes. Because when the hype dies down, all these Agassi release are outlet bound.

The Hua's are put together better than the ATC II. For a start they actually are leather whereas the ATC II are 100% synthetic. The Hua's are much higher quality than the ATC II.

I imagine they used the sole from the III and IV in a money-saving exercise. At least Nike let it be known that they weren't going for a proper retro model by changing the name though.

The slams haven't built much hype IMO. People who know about ATC shoes don't need to be hyped to buy them. Nobody else has a clue what they are. The Hot Lava II's have pretty much sold out at retail, they won't be going anywhere near outlets. It's probably fueled by the Yeezy II's outside of people who know about them anyway. Only the Hua's will hit outlets, which is a shame IMO as it's a good shoe.

Smh. brah we will never agree. No point in going back and forth.

We wont agree because you are complaining about a shoe that was never meant to recreate the OG. It has a different name and it's noted as being a remastered version of the ATC II in Nike's own description. I highly doubt anybody would call you out about the sole change if you were wearing them either, because you'd be very hard-pressed to find anybody who even remembered them from 1992 in the first place. The FP1 using the Exposed sole cannot be compared to this shoe. It's a totally different thing.

Do you complain that Lunar AF1's are not the same as the OG, because this is what you are doing about the Hua's. If the Tour Yellow CW wasn't available, you wouldn't even have an argument at all as it could only be considered a totally new shoe that borrows design elements from one released 22 years prior.

I agree though. We wont see eye to eye.

J0e has a point though. ATC 2 in most CWs will sell through at retail due to greater awareness and Y2 BS. The rest of the tech challenge line are only going to sell to tennis retro enthusiasts ( with maybe the exception of ATC 3 in OG CW) so likely to end up in the sale and outlets. But that's good for us though - anything that makes it a cheaper and easier cop is OK with me.

Bottom line in the UK at the movement if it's not a AJ 1, 3.4,5,6, Air Max 1, Roshe or Huarache LE the mainstream British market are not copping.
