Are you going off skill or being the hottest?

I'd say Wayne was the hottest from 06-09

Skill/Quality wise he was dope from 04-07 IMO.

But I think when people talk about runs they are talking about mainstream success/being "the guy". Which Wayne only really had from 07-10. He came back from jail and still sold a million first week but it was kinda already Drake's time at that point.

Except that part in the Black Jeopoardy scene, where Keenan said he knows Drake was speaking English...just not his type of English. That had me dying .

This. I'd say 02-07 though. Them Squad tapes were the sht. His mainstream run was from 07-11....and wasn't good.

It's crazy how so many mainstream fans though Wayne was a "new artist" in '08 .

First listen, I wasnt feeling it at all.

Second round, started paying attention to the lyrics and the songs more

Third round, started to feel it.

and now I'm heavily listening to it. I'm really liking the vibe to it although gotta say NWTS is still better IMO.

This is probably just me but the album "sounds different" with the weather

Its been raining since the album dropped...up until 2-3 days ago...now that I can roll with the windows down a little bit...it's a little different

Edit: for comparsion, I think 808's & Heartbreak sounds great in the winter/snow

If not for this thread, I would have forgot this views album even came out.

If you don't enjoy the other OVO dudes music, then you don't enjoy Drake's music, cause his music is theirs

Cause Views sounds like the watered down b-grade version of Take Care. He tried to make Take Care Part 2 but clearly didn't bring any of the drive or influences to do that

Nope, and that was the big reason why it was a fallout between drake and weeknd.

Drake felt like XO and weeknd used ovo as a launching pad of sorts and weeknd felt like he didnt owe drake **** since they were the ones who reached out to him

Its obviously more to it but thats the gist of it from what ive read and gathered over the years I think
