🦉The Official Drake Thread6️⃣ - Drake & PND Album Fall 2024

You're out of your mind.

Drake wouldn't even co-sign that.

It's Adele and Beyoncé at the top of music period.

I would love to see drake sell out cowboy stadium from top to bottom

What does this have to with anything? He probably could if he wanted to but he didn't choose to do stadium tours.

His commercial success is bigger at the moment that's all I'm saying

Would you say T swift is bigger than Beyonce?

Whoa, Views out selling Lemonade 1.027 million to 834k (both actually sales) as I mention, she's about to start selling more and most likely continue starting next week. She'll also sell more WW.

Biggest artist is Beyonce, Adele and Taylor Swift. Beyonce first female artist to do an ALL STADIUM TOUR, demand was so high she had to add 8 more STADIUM DATES!

I'm still not understanding the significance. Plenty of all time greats can fill up stadiums but it has little to do with their current popularity.

Good for her tho I guess.

I'm not for comparing but this is very debatable. Views outsold that album already fam.. and what happened to the Formation single? It went top 10 and fell off hard.

have you heard the formation single? that was never going to be a #1 song. but if your going to gauge off and artist single performance then rihanna is the greatest artist of this current generation

I'm not looking at this from the success from singles at all. I was only referring to current commercial success. The hype for Views and the response from the public which was record breaking is enough to confirm my point.

If Drake is as big or bigger than freaking Beyonce, why don't we see him booking stadiums this summer? I don't doubt that he could sell out one with a "special show" of sorts but I'm pretty sure if he could do a stadium tour, at this point in his career, he would. Beyonce also happens to be headlining her own tour solo as well...

Okay, I'm not sure why I was even arguing this point in a drake thread, shame on me
Why would u debate dipset? He doesn't know what the hell he's talking about with anything. Drake not big enough to headline a stadium tour yet, if he was he would.

That just wasn't what he was going for. I have no doubt he could do a stadium tour easily but that wasn't what he wanted. Were talking about the top 5 most popular artists out. It's trivial bringing it down to who could sell out where when they all could do that.

Kanye can't even do a stadium tour right now b. Let it go man. If he could he would. He was going for smaller venues so he can make the fans feel closers? Stop it.

i was helly disappointed in Drake. I feel like he was on the right path with NWTS he was a lot less worried about what people thought of him, and seemed to be more focused on just being Drake. I didnt like If Your Reading This.... but to keep it all the way funky i dont think Drake liked it either. But Views just seemed like a repeat of all his old material. not impressed he is better than that

If Beyonce was a bigger artist, her album would be selling alot more. Seems like Drizz' is the bigger artist.

Why would anyone Debate with WillChamberlain? Guy has a vendetta against Drizzy like he smanged his girl or something. :rolleyes

This is an even worse comparison. I shall never disrespect Ye's name but were talking about who's currently more popular. Current is the key word.

i wouldnt count Ye out, lest we forget the Yeezus tour which was one of the highest grossing tours in 2013, TLOP tour will likely be a squeal, far as drake goes i think he should get back in the both asap because people may have copped the album but most were'nt feeling it all the way through. he will prolly ride the wave of One dance and Hotlinebling until that dies down.

This isn't something that's quantifiable through just 2016 streaming/album #s and ability to sell out stadiums. There are factors that aren't tangible you have to consider. Beyoncé is a generation defining artist. She can remain on the pantheon of musicians until she's an old lady. Her level of influence to this generation is comparable to some of the greatest and most accomplished musicians ever and their generations. She's looked at the same way people looked at Whitney Houston, Mariah, Tina turner, etc. She is a god to damn near every woman 50 and under. On some Oprah ****.

Drake is a rapper. A genre that lives within its youth. It's not even possible for him to have that level of influence over a longer period of time than someone like Beyoncé.

If you want to tell me that Drake can sell more first week streams or whatever the hell criteria it is they use to track sales these days...fine. But to say that Drake is bigger than Beyoncé is completely asinine.

now i dont believe drake is bigger than Beyonce but to say that he could never be as influential is a mistake. the reason drake has gained so much attention isnt because he's light skinned and Canadian. the kid can can actually spit. further more he bridged a gap in rap that most artist were too afraid of even attempting to tackle. drake is one of the artist that made it okay to display emotion in your music, he defies the stereotypical rubric of the common rapper and that is why he will stand the test of time in the music industry

Were forgetting that Beyonce has seven more years of success that Drake hasn't. Drake is a once in a generation artist. He's arguably the biggest male artist at the moment and other than Eminem he's the biggest rapper. I agree that Beyonce is clearly more legendary at this point. But look where Mariah was 10 years ago and look now. Pop acts tend to fall off with the younger demographic. Age and being a rapper has nothing to do with it cause Eminem is still more popular than B and he's like 10 years older than her.

Beyonce deserves all the credit in the world but I believe the guy who's still dropping hits and building up his legacy is more popular.
