🦉The Official Drake Thread6️⃣ - Scary Hours 3 11.17.23

Genius. Literally came and went. The biggest rapper in the game gets handed a giant L in a rap beef that's been brewing for a decade and two weeks later it's a non story.
Na you're giving him too much credit as if it's not normal in this day and time for ppl to move on. It's been talked about to death. Ppl moved on because there was nothing else to say with no response from drake..

What is lol?
Rehashing this beef. Unless this is a lyric from the album.

Eh he did ramp up the marketing effort right around that time and made a music video that had the sole purpose of going viral.

4PM in Calabasas has moved up on my list of the timestamp joints

I still got 6PM in NY as the top one though

Hopefully he continues the series

dope...double-album...this should give him significant amount of time/content for him to speak about the "situation(s)". We're all waiting.

Kendrick goes n sells 650K first week. Drake is just so much more ahead of everybody else, his dedicated core base is just so much more secured & larger than everybody elses.

with that said i have no excitement towards this album
DAMN sold more 1st week than More Life with almost half the amount of songs so to say he's so far ahead is a def a stretch along with thinking any rapper can go Plat 1st week

no it's a stretch from media publications to milk that story because More Life's release should be compared with untilted unmastered's release
they were both impromptu and didn't have a rollout, they were just sudden releases.

DAMN. had a rollout, Views had a rollout, and Scorpion is on a rollout. More Life and untitled unmastered did not have rollouts. If You're Reading This It's Too Late did not have a rollout.

untitled unmastered and More Life did not have physical CD shipments,
DAMN, Views, and Scorpion did/will.

untitled unmastered/more life were not "major label releases,"
DAMN, Views, and Scorpion are.

def a stretch along with thinking any rapper can go Plat 1st week

Drake's new album Views enjoyed – by today's standards – a platinum-selling Number One debut week as the rapper's latest sold 1.04 million total copies while also setting a record for most streams in a week. Drake's sixth consecutive chart-topping LP sold 852,000 traditional copies in its first week of availability, a career best for the rapper and the highest sales week of 2016, quickly surpassing the record set last week by Beyoncé's Lemonade.

What pushed Views to over a million copies was the album's incredible streaming numbers: In its first week of release, songs from Views were streamed over 245 million times, which crushed Justin Bieber and Purpose's previous record holder of 100 million one-week streams, Billboard reports. Under the Billboard 200's new chart metrics, those 245 million streams translate into an additional 163,000 SEAs (stream equivalent albums), pushing Views to platinum status.

Drake previously topped the Billboard 200 with 2010's Thank Me Later, 2012's Take Care, 2013's Nothing Was the Same, 2015's If You're Reading This It's Too Late and his 2015 joint LP with Future What a Time to Be Alive.

Last week's Number One, Beyoncé's Lemonade, dipped to Number Two despite strong second-week sales of 321,000 total copies. Prince's Purple Rain and The Very Best of Prince grabbed Number Three and Four while Rihanna's Anti clung to Five for the second straight week.

Besides Views, two more new releases debuted within the Top 10: Rob Zombie's Electric Warlock Acid Witch Satanic Orgy Celebration Dispensersold 41,000 copies to bow in at Number Six while the Now 58 compilation scored Number Seven. Chris Stapleton's Traveller (Number Eight), Bieber's Purpose (Nine) and Adele's 25 closed out the Top 10.

Next week, Drake will attempt to retain his Billboard 200 throne against new releases like Radiohead's A Moon Shaped Pool and Keith Urban's Ripcord.

Find out everything you need to know about Drake's fourth album, 'Views,' a subject of intense curiosity since it was announced in 2014.

DAMN did 603k first week and More Life did 505k in 5 days. Yeah, it’s totally different with an album roll out vs a mixtape/playlist.
