2014 NBA Draft Thread

Jabari Parker may have "tanked" his workout with the Cavs over the weekend, a source told Chad Ford of ESPN.com.
The "Sorry for Jabari" tanking storyline just took an interesting turn here. Parker reportedly came into the workout weighing in at a hefty 255 pounds, which is well above his listed playing weight of 235. CBS Sports reported that the Cavs are leaning to Parker, but maybe this will dissuade them after last year's massive letdown with out-of-shape Anthony Bennett.

see? I mean good for 'em they got Wiggins, doesn't change the fact that Gilbert is a spineless maggot.

From the reports, the front office wanted Parker but Gilbert wanted Wiggins.

Gilbert wanted Wiggins after the tanked workout though.

look at rotoworld's news ticker for Parker, everything was looking like he was a favorite to go 1 for the Cavs until the workout.

Why would they want Parker though? So they could continue to get cooked on defense and have more problems with shot distribution?

Wiggins was the perfect selection, either him or Embiid.

The run on Euro stashing cost a lot of kids getting their names called last night.

It's something that I've grown to hate about the NBA Draft. GMs drafting guys they know won't come over so that they don't have to pay these kids. It's ********. Guys who were good in college going undrafted while the Brazilian Kevin Durant who's nowhere near ready to play NBA level ball gets picked.

why? Because as it stands he's the more NBA ready of the two.

plus they could easily have moved Waiters had they taken Parker.

Wiggins/Parker/Embiid/Randle/Stauskas/Exum are guys I'm betting on 100%

Busts? Vonleh/LaVine/James Young

Wouldn't be surprised if LaVine turns out to be a perennial all star either, he's a crap shoot.
I think Embiid will be the best player in the class. Just hope his body holds, legitimate concern with all big men with an injury history. Especially so recently compounding.

Not high on Dougie, Young, Adams, or Huestis.

I heard and read the opposite. Couple NBA sources were reporting Gilbert was pushing the FO to select Bari in an attempt to create a win-now culture.

Alright out of everyone who was drafted last night who do you guys think can be a all star for years to come? and who do you guys think will be a bust?

Young got picked 17th, wouldn't call that bust status if he doesn't pain out. His jump shot will keep him around the league for the most part.

I trust completely in Masai Ujiri, but he might have outsmarted himself on this one. Forced himself to go against the grain and invest in a hopeful Greek Freak. Because he's no Durant.

At some point, you'd rather go undrafted and pick who you want to sign with for the season than getting drafted.

2 years away from being 2 years away :lol

I think James Young will be an All Star.

The Bulls really traded for Doug Mcdermitt lmaoo and they traded away Gary Harris lmaoo bulls gone bull

I watched him all last year g and I gotta ask, what jumper? :lol

He's got scoring instincts but he's subpar at everything else on the basketball court.

His defense makes James Harden look like Gary Payton.

He's young though (no pun) so we'll see but I'm not high on him at all.

Dunk he had in NC game was top 10 I've seen live though, he's ok in my book just for that.

They wanted Ennis, he was gone, why not take Shabazz :{ ... really don't understand what they were thinking, same goes for MJ and Cho, why would you help the Heat.

Also, how the **** you going to compare a dude to KD and say that he's not NBA ready/doesn't have basketball skills?

As if KD didn't have an NBA level offensive repertoire at 19?

Dudes just be saying whatever.

i had high hopes for Lavine until he was picked by Minny...its curtain for the kid, one of the worst places he could landed, Sac, Bucks and Cavs.

I didn't watch too much college basketball, but I wasn't overly impressed with Marcus smart. He looks like an average playmaker that can't shoot.

I could be wrong.

I woulda did what it took to get Ennis if I'm Toronto, that's just a kid you want leading your team especially since they're already playoff contenders and likely to lose Lowry.

Faith in Masai like Champ said but damn.

He's strong like a bull, plays good defense, and is capable of creating offense.

A little worried about this as well and from his facial expression when he got drafted, so is he. :lol
