2014 NBA Draft Thread

Yup. You always want the NBA to discover that you suck while you're already on your rookie deal as opposed to when you're still in school.

JMM lost them M's only to have a struggle college career for Roy Williams.

Dude was projected TOP 10 after his freshman year. :lol

OKB....what kind of career do you see Saric having in the NBA and what's a good comparison for him? I've heard a lot of people compare him to Lamar Odom.

Also what about Micic?

Quick off the top, my favorite picks: Rodney Hood, Gary Harris, K.J. McDaniels, Jordan Clarkson.

haaaa....

wow, i just read through page 213 of this thread and wanted to say yall all need to get off wiggins peen. cats sound like some women

PJ going to cook for the Hornets as long as he stays away from them street cats.

Smart a baller though, I know you wish they woulda took Payton if anything.
I was amped to see Philly go all-in on Glove 2. Then them feels hit just to watch him get flipped moments later.

The defense and length with a MCW and Payton back court. My goodness. The amount of bricks too.

Where you end up watching the Draft?

love where warren and hood got drafted, i think they can really succeed

Lamar Odom's not bad, not that athletic, and a not as rangy as a defender, Boris Diaw might be a bit better example. A guy who can play big and small at the same time I think is an going to be an important type of player moving forward in todays NBA with small lineups, Saric got a really good post game he can punish smaller players, but he can also stretch the floor, has improved every year, jump shot inconsistent but has improved leaps and bounds over the last two years.

I saw Micic at u19's and I watched a couple euroleague games. He's a really big point gaurd at 6'6 and really really good passer, good mechanics on his jumper, should be better than his percentages, turnover prone, think Kendall Marshall or Greives Vasquez.

Definitely a fan of the KJ McDaniels pick at 32.
Problem if he nails that jumper down. Athletic freak, threatening in the open court. Rebounds better than his height. Plays with a chip on his shoulder.

Micic is a Spurs-type player.

@PMatic  Ya'll are buggin' .  Randle was a steal at that pick.  Even Mitch Kupchak couldn't believe he was on the board at that point.  Lakers fan should rejoice that they got a kid with the kind of work ethic and beast mode ability that Randle has.  Name me another 6' 9" dude with handles like his that got drafted before him?  Aaron Gordon offensively is definitely behind Randle's game, it's just Aaron Gordon is more athletic...  Ya'll can have all those measurements and workout statistics.  What those things don't measure are heart and W's.

Trust me this wont happen in the NBA to a rookie (Triple Teams).  Randle was consistently doubled and tripled teamed in college.  The NBA doesn't play defense like this, and I like the kids chances one on one with a lot of defenders in the NBA.  If defenders do help, as we saw in the NCAA tournament he has developed his post passing to recognize when to pass out of these situations compared to earlier in the season.

And this will be called a foul in the NBA.  Mark my WORDS Randle will thrive at the Free Throw line in the NBA.  Teams game plan in college was to hack him as much as possible and the refs definitely didn't blow the whistle and give him all of the calls he deserved due to his physical play.

Randle's game will evolve just like everyone's does once they get to the NBA.  The jump shot will come as he is given more freedom to take more shots on a Lakers team that needs another scorer.  i don't even want to go into rebounding.  I'll let the below In Game stats tell the story.

It will be interesting to compare the career paths of Vonleh, Gordon, Randle. Especially since the Magic shocked us a bit going early at #4 and two teams passed on Vonleh.

Saric is saying that he has a one and 2 year option. So he def has to play this year but could come next year. Well see tho

Hinkie stockpiling assets. Can't say enough how much I love the strategy. Philly assembling an army.

Lakers took the best player there at #7.cant be mad at getting Randle. Smart woulda been real nice tho
