2014 NBA Draft Thread

Semaj should do well in Charlotte.

Like him a lot, great change of pace off the bench.

Really love what Charlotte did in this draft, Rich Cho tryna be great.

Zeller better be in the gym working RIGHT NOW.

they're definitely looking strong in the front court with how well of a year Big Al had not to mention Zeller coming around. The way Charlotte cleared cap space I'm actually anticipating what kind of splash they can make, if any, during free agency.

Two words: "Born Ready"

Reggie is gone, he tryna get paid, ain't eem mad.

if he gets anything like what Harden got for his efforts in OKCs offense I'd be shocked. But he did look pretty fluid this past post season. Like you said Presti's reign continues.

Superstars ain't going to Charlotte unless Mike is putting another $10M per year into Melo's Jordan deal... which could actually happen.

Wait, what superstar is going there if he does that?

Confused.

I really like what orlando did  in the draft with aaron gordan and elfrid payton. All defensive specialist to add to Oladipo's great defense. Could be a young team of the future once they all develop. I think dudes are sleeping on aaron gordans potential as a pro. Elfrid reminds me of a young Rondo

High on Payton and Gordon but the Magic needed shooting yet they gave away Affalo.

That team is going to be one the worst shooting teams in recent memory, their only saving grace is they won't give up many points at all and Vucevic will be there to catch many of those bricks.

What's the obsession with Patric Young? His game never developed in the four years he was at Florida. Y'all caught up in his muscular physique and missing the fact that he literally has NO skill for his position.

He couldn't even catch the ball at the end of the season

I agree. I think the magic could of gotten more for Afflalo. His buzz was so high. He seemed like the missing link for contenders that were knocking on the door like the clippers, warriors. They gave AA up for practically nothing.

They gave him up for a player they wanted in the 2012 just got drafted a pick ahead of them by Denver so I'm assuming when their were offered Evan two seasons later they salivated and jumped on it

So much of this.

Fourth or fifth big in a rotation. I guess.

are their any restrictions on the 1st Orlando gave up to philly in that 10 for 12 swap?

Denver came the hell up, got AA/Gary Harris and that huge cat from Bosnia.

Im sorry, thats not a good trade. Evan Fournier and 56th pick in the draft for someone who had a shot at being a allstar. Im guessing they knew they were gonna try and grad a traditional pg, and move oladipo offically to the SG. Still mind boggling to say the least.

Why's everyone knocking Orlando grabbing Payton because he can't shoot...but thinks they should have grabbed Exum?

I remember another 6'9 guy with a great physique that I wanna say all but two GMs in the league slept on before he finally peaked...

no hyperbole, I think Young can be and will be that good. No one needs him to be Dirk Ibaka or some create-a-player. But if he can do what he did in school making effort plays and running the floor well defending. SIGN THAT MAN.

Aside from being a good post defender Patric is nowhere near Ben. Ben was a great rebounder, could even hold his own out on the perimeter defensively and was a great weak side defender as well. Patric doesn't have any of those instincts but he'll probably make the league regardless as an end of the bench big man.

A lot of winner in this draft. Especially the Knicks who definitely stole Cleanthony Early 34th and Thanasis Antetokounmpo 51st. Thanasis definitely is going to bring defense to the team. With Shump in the lineup as well its going to bring some excitement blocking shots and stealing.

I guess my hang up is that with GMs in the NBA they seem so interested in making the savvy pick, the analytical pick, the guy they can stash for 2 years, clear cap space, maybe he comes maybe he doesn't, gotta save my job another year.... I saw his video on youtube and sent a guy to brazil to scout him... he's 2 years away from being 2 years away :lol

what about the guys we saw all year playing their heart out diving on the floor against the best the NCAA had to offer and winning?

Jabari Brown anyone???????

remember him? Nearly 20 a game?

Dude Wiggins smiling like he got Botox, you know damn well he wanted to go #1, said straight up he never cared about college ball growing up at all, NBA or nothing.

I'm glad they picked the guy who really wants to be there, almost thought they would take Jabari out of spite. Good on them
