2023 SAG-AFTRA/Writer's Strike (WGA) Thread | IT'S OVER!

Tubi films need writers too.

They got 20 times better in the last year. It used to be unintentional comedy, but they are definitely getting better. A good platform for black independent filmmakers too.

Seriously, Tubi is about to takeover.

I’m actually thinking about investing/creating something for them.

SNL’s Bowen Yang at the protest.

The writers are still being paid while striking (it would be anarchy if they weren't), but once since that's public and they can protest while being paid, isn't it beneficial just to get this **** over with if you're the studios?

This thread is about the Writer's Guild of America (WGA) going on strike.

Your favorite scripted program will be affected by this.

Been following Michael jamin for about a year now. Without a doubt my favorite account on IG. Dude saw this strike coming a looooooong time ago.

Anyone can be a writer.

The reason that services like Tubi are free is because there are too many writers making too many movies.

You will catch a good writer and good movie every once in a while. Those writers should be paid accordingly.

Everyone else needs to just do better.

That’s not the point of this strike AT ALL!

They are not getting a fair share of the streaming residuals.

Say you do get a “cheap” writer and the show blows up on Netflix.

Do you think those writers deserve more then their base salary?
