wait what?

we do know that scottie pippen is one of the 50 greatest players of all time right? why would MJ have left when he had a good team in CHI already? lebron actually has great reason to dip..he's not an alpha dog because he wants to align with another good player?

chips don't happen off the strength on one player..cmon son

none of these guys have played with any bonafide second options, except dwade and shaq, and look what that churned out
especially a guy like lebron, when one of his greatest assets is his passing ability ..him + STAT

Fact is, MJ waited his turn. Kept grinding and got it. Yes Scottie is one of the great but would it really be that hard to get Lebron his "Scottie"?

Maybe Lebron doesn't really need a Scottie. The Cavs were a 60 win team two years running. They got to the Eastern Conference Finals last year and a few years back, the NBA FINALS, although in a weaker East, they have done pretty well thus far. Maybe Mike Brown and another missing piece were the problem.

If He leaves to take a bite of the big apple, then cool. That's his spotlight chasing prerogative. AND IMO it lessens his legacy.

He and the Cavs can get it done here. WHAT HAPPENED IN CHICAGO WHEN PHIL JACKSON TOOK OVER?

I see someone has been posting info from the PDCavsInsider but somehow forget this tid bit:

Knicks fans may want to kill this messenger, but multiple sources still say NY still trailing CLE, CHI, NJ on LeBron's list even w/ Amar'e about 9 hours ago via web

because nobody cares. who in the hell is multiple sources? lebron has had his poker face on he isn't even telling widhorst things anymore. dude sounded like he was going to cry when he heard about another meeting. ^

how can there possibly be multiple sources of what's in lebron's head? how could we trail a 12 win team after adding Amare?

it's cavs or knicks and it's always been that way.

The Knicks are trying to make arrangements for LeBron James to visit New York City this week but that effort is complicated by the fact that James is scheduled to attend his own basketball camp in Akron.
Frank Isola of the New York Daily News writes that the Knicks remain confident that James is seriously considering leaving the Cavaliers for the Knicks, and that the team's addition of fellow All-Star free agent Amar'e Stoudemire makes New York more appealing to James.

New York's second meeting with James' agent Leon Rose on Saturday was to explain specifics of the Knicks' cap situation and the team's plan for building the roster around the superstar.

"In talking to Leon, he wanted it clarified about our cap numbers," Donnie Walsh told The New York Post. "We wanted him to understand the options we can have in different scenarios. Even though we referred to them in the meeting, we didn't put numbers to them in the meeting. I think Leon understood it after."

Why must you infect this thread with your Cavalier stench?

Talking numbers? There hasn't been any news of a second meeting for any other teams?

I'm beginning to feel "cautiously optimistic"

I just really thought about it for a second....LeBron and Ama're on the same team...in D'Antoni's offense...

We saw what Nash and STAT did in Mike's scheme...imagine what these two would do.

With one of the best shooters in the league on the wing...

mike brown wasnt the problem in cleveland. the problem is you can not win in this league without a solid big man in the middle. mike brown was a good solid defensive coach and to me was the main reason the cavs won 60 games. i bet they dont win 60 with scott or even go to the finals with lebron if he stays in cleveland. if you take lebron out of that cleveland lineup even with scott they are the knicks now. 35 to 40 win team tops.

Walsh said yesterday that Rose had called about questions regarding the Knicks' cap and some of the scenarios the brass said they could swing during Thursday's initial meeting.

According to Walsh, the Knicks volunteered to send Grunwald and O'Neil back to Cleveland to discuss it with the agent -- but Stoudemire was the big topic, a source said. The Post reported Saturday their decision to get serious with Stoudemire stemmed from a desire to catch James' attention.

What do y'all think about our Point Guard situation?

I think Toney would make a great defensive backup but i'm not sure about him as our full time starting 1.

I think Felton would be a great fit.

I think Douglas is perfect if LeBron is here.

Also, interesting to hear that LeBron's agent contacted us for a meeting.

By the way, ESPN just used that big magic screen to break down the Knicks getting LeBron and Amare...took 'em long enough. Maybe our chances are a lot better than they'd have us believe.

I can't knock it, yall having Amare locked up does make it more attractive to Bron...but don't yall think that he will realize there is no mention of the word defense on that bench? DG can shoot, but TD as your point? Will either one be able to pick up the slack when teams key in on Bron and Amare?

Well played NY...I'm still holding out hope that he will opt for the better defensive team knowing that he can score when he wants too

After reviewing the scenario of Lebron in a _'Antoni offense, Toney does seem like a "perfect" fit. He plays D & hits open shots. Son really doesn't have to do much more than that besides an occasional foray into the paint to dish or layup. I think we can develop him into a very serviceable and reliable player. We would be forced to insert him into the starting lineup if no PG finds his way here.

Toney
Lebron
Gallo
Amar'e
*%$! these n's still gotta get a CENTER

A defensive PG & C would work wonders for a team tying up loose ends.

In other news, does Rautins make the roster? There are plenty of seats. I see the Knicks have taken Lee off of season ticket commercials & probably the site (although I haven't checked there in a while)

Keep in mind that it's not too difficult to pick up defensive specialists for cheap when you have 2 of the best players in the league on your team.

Rautins definitely makes the roster. Do they even pay 2nd round picks?

I'm joking.

And yall can't get Felton unless you do a S&T which would probably mean overpaying him. Not worth it. I guess I have to watch some Douglas or something. Yall high on him like he's Rondo in 07 or something.

Douglas can play D, but is he a enough of a playmaker to fit well in this offense? I don't know.

He was a consistent scorer at FSU, didn't really see him as a playmaking PG though. With all the pick and rolls that will be run, you have to be able to hit a jumper or be able to pass well.

Thats the way I see it too.

Hes good on defense and can score when needed but I haven't seen much court vision or passing ability from him.

Then again, last year was only his rookie year.

Toney Douglas can go OFF when needed. Just check what he did while he was at Florida State. Dude was the heart and sole of that team and always hit shots in the clutch for them. He's the perfect fit cause he's a smart player that wouldn't try to play out of his game and wouldn't hesitate to knock down wide open shots with Lebron, Amare and Gallo next to him. I'd say he's one of the top point guards defensively in the league. I honestly think D'Antoni's idea is to go out with a lineup of Toney, Bron, Gallo, Chandler and Amare. He might think he can make Wilson Chandler his new Shawn Marion

He will not be asked to be a playmaker with Lebron becoming the Magic Johnson of the Knicks (granted he signs the dotted line).

Buc-

There's like a handful of players in the league that can go OFF when needed. I think what you're trying to say is that he is a streaky player and can have offensive outbursts at time. Not on command though.

Oh I never questioned his ability to score. I question his ability to find an open man and push the ball in an uptempo system.

And of course if Lebron signs, he would be the one dominating the ball aka the Nash of this team. If that does happen then what role does Toney play? I don't know yet but I think he can be a contributor to this team.
