Yeah, I just don't get it.

It's one thing if an established star were to win the belt and then go on a losing streak in non-title matches.  But when you have a young guy who isn't really over, you better do everything in your power to push him to that next level.  And for whatever reason (not being boys with HHH), the WWE has completely dropped the ball.

u think that swagger loses the belt tomorrow because of this?

Doubt it.  Smackdown could've ended up doing some good.  I figure if Swagger retains, they can use his week's SD to start a program between Swagger and Morrison.  It would be refreshing to see 2 people not named HHH/Cena/Batista/Orton feuding for the title.

I think just the opposite.  I think he keeps the belt, especially since a no holds barred match allows for Orton to lose due to "special" circumstances.

I agree. I don't get it. I also don't get why Vince doesn't have confidence in his champions (Sheamus/Swagger/Punk) to close Raw/Smackdown/PPV. If you don't have the confidence in your champions to close the show, don't make them champions?
World Champions don't midcard and don't open up TV tapings.

Is Batista On His Way Out of WWE?
Posted by Chris Lansdell on 04.24.2010

It seems that way...

The rumour in Baltimore, where the WWE roster is preparing for Extreme Rules tomorrow night, is that Batista is ending his run with the company this week. Batista had been talking about leaving as early as January, and as was recently reported he was displeased with Triple H taking the lead role in the film Killing Karma, which was originally slated for Batista. The feeling is that this decision was made because Batista's contract was ending and WWE did not want to risk having him in a film while not under contract.

It should be noted that Batista is not listed on either the Smackdown or Raw roster pages right now on WWE.com.

^That would suck if Batista left WWE, especially since his douche-bag character has been enjoyable these last few months.

Batista's new gimmick has been entertaining the last few months but I'm still happy he's leaving.

Dave Batista's WWE contract is up and he will be leaving the company following tonight's Extreme Rules pay-per-view. However, sources close to Batista claim he is not finished with WWE and will return later this year. Dave is expected to work on numerous film projects not associated with WWE. Furthermore there is no set date for Batista's in-ring retirement but he is reportedly in the final 18 months of his in-ring career.

Batista was originally scheduled to star in the WWE Studios feature film "Killing Karma" but was passed over in favor of Triple H. I've been reporting for months he was expected to evaluate his future after filming wrapped and a hiatus has been planned since the beginning of the year. Since there is no film, his hiatus will begin after tonight's pay-per-view.

Dave Batista is not on WWE's tour overseas as filming for his upcoming WWE Studios project is set to begin next week. Multiple sources continue to tell me he will be taking time off from WWE after the company's Extreme Rules pay-per-view later this month, but representatives for Batista continue to say he will stay on. Batista's contract with WWE is up following the pay-per-view and after digging deeper, I was told by a source yesterday there is "no way" WWE would have put John Cena over Batista at Wrestlemania for the title if Batista wasn't taking time off. The source told me, WWE didn't want to put Cena over.

On the RAW side, there's gonna be a whole lot of jobbing.  I'm almost 157% (word to 2 Scoops) positive that Cena is gonna have one of those Cena reigns of doom.

^god i hope not because thats just hhh with a corny rapper gimmick

- Jeff Hardy wrote the following on Twitter yesterday about last week's RAW: "Raw last week was Rotten...damn I was Amazed...because I'm usually Impressed? Did I mention Raw was tha *@!*@ last Week!"

Wrestling News World reader Ross posted a comment on our original Mark Henry report with an eye-witness account of what happened at The Hilton Hotel lobby bar in Belfast, Ireland.

According to Ross, the accuser was visibly intoxicated and continued to bother members of the WWE roster. He was warned by Randy Orton to go away but he continued to bother Henry, even grabbing his shirt and taunting him with explicit language.

When the bar patron asked Henry to take a picture with him or else, things escalated and were broken up by Randy Orton, John Cena and security. As security was taking the drunken patron away, the patron continued to shout at Henry which resulted in Henry throwing an empty glass at him that "missed him by miles".

Hopefully Mickie James is at her local Waffle House goin' ham, because I missed her thicky thick body.

For the people on here that use tvandsportsstreams.tv I need some help. Whenever I try to watch a stream it goes straight to windows media player instead of the winamp that I had  to download and i've followed all the steps in the FAQ. Anything i'm doing wrong?

Wish cena and/or trips was leaving instead of batista

but this should provide an opportunity for new talent in the main event spot.

Tonight is the 2nd annual Extreme Rules PPV, formally ECW One Night Stand.  For me, this is one of the least underwhelming PPVs in a while for the WWE, and that is partially their own fault, and partially mother natures.  The WWE had their semi-annual European tour two weeks ago, and that happened to coincide with the volcano in Iceland which wreaked havoc with air travel throughout Europe.  Luckily for the WWE, the Smackdown crew was able to get home on a flight out of Spain.  The Raw crew however was stuck in Ireland and not able to get back to the US until Wednesday meaning they missed both Raw and Smackdown the week leading into the PPV which is not a good thing.  Because of this, the WWE writing staff, the crack team that they are, were left scrambling to re-write Raw.  What came out of that was one of the worst Raw's in ages.  It was just an all-around bad show.  And Smackdown, despite having the normal roster, was almost just as bad.  It was a very bad week for the WWE, and that won't help them heading into one of the lower B-shows of the year.  The interesting thing is that TNA actually put on one of their best shows in a long, long time.  One show certainly doesn't account for much, especially when Vince Russo is your head writer, but if TNA can keep Monday's momentum going, it could be a very interesting summer.

One other thing to take into account with tonight's show is that tomorrow is the annual WWE Draft which means wrestlers will be switching shows (although it's just Raw and Smackdown this year with ECW out of the picture).  For entertainment purposes tomorrow night, the draft is usually interesting.  However, with wrestlers jumping back and forth between shows practically every week, the draft really means nothing within a month.  However, it does mean that many current feuds could conclude tonight.  Let's get into the Extreme Rules card:

14177736

Shad Gaspard vs JTG - Strap Match

Cryme Tyme broke up and now Shad says it's My Tyme.  Only problem is the fans don't want to waste their time on this "feud".  The breakup came basically out of nowhere.  There was no tease.  It just happened after Cryme Tyme lost a match.  JTG has kept the gangster gimmick.  I don't know what Shad's gimmick is exactly.  Anyway, they're having a strap match tonight.  I don't exactly know why a strap match.  The gimmick of a strap match having to touch all four corners just seems silly to me in today's age of wrestling.  It may allow for JTG to get a fluke win, but I doubt it.  Shad seems to be getting the push, so he should win, but in the long run, it doesn't really matter.  Shad doesn't have much talent, and JTG hasn't shown any ability to get over on his own.  My guess is both are gone from the WWE by this Tyme next year.  See what I did there?

Prediction: Shad Gaspard

14179210

Michelle McCool (c) vs Beth Phoenix - Extreme Makeover Match for the WWE Women's Championship

It really feels like TNA came up with this match.  I'm not positive, but I think there are typical "women's" items around the ring to use as weapons, like ironing boards, vacuum cleaners, etc etc.  I don't know why, but I just have a feeling that Beth wins here after she thwarts the efforts of Layla and Vickie.

Prediction: Beth Phoenix - New Women's Champion

14066542

Rey Mysterio vs CM Punk - If CM Punk Loses, He Gets His Head Shaved

This should be a good match.  They were rushed at WrestleMania, so I'm hoping they get more time tonight.  It has been a great program, but it is starting to wear thin, so I wouldn't be surprised if tonight was the blow off.  I just don't see Punk losing and thus losing his hair.  The Straight Edge Society is not ready to disband, in fact there are rumors that the returning Joey Mercury will be the next member of the SES.  Mysterio has been getting the better of Punk in the recent weeks (as well as HHH getting the better of Punk, but I won't even address that), including Mysterio getting a piece of Punk's hair on Monday night.  As I'm typing this, it wouldn't surprise me in the least to see Mercury interfere tonight allowing Punk to get the win.

Prediction: CM Punk

14110698

HHH vs Sheamus - Street Fight

Another WrestleMania rematch.  HHH won cleanly at Mania.  Since Mania, we saw Sheamus adopt a steel pipe as his weapon of choice.  This of course led to HHH reuniting with his sledge hammer.  HHH chased Sheamus off into the crowd the last time we saw these two.  With HHH's legitimate injuries and the rumors of him needing time off, my guess is that we get an injury angle in tonight's match with Sheamus beating HHH forcing him out of action for a few months.

Prediction: Sheamus

14172144

Edge vs Chris Jericho - Steel Cage Match

Like I said above, this is one of those programs that is likely to come to an end tonight.  These two have had an excellent feud, but it's time to move on.  Like some of the other previous matches, it is another WrestleMania rematch.  Jericho got the victory at WrestleMania before losing his title to Jack Swagger a few nights later on Smackdown.  I have to think that Edge gets his revenge here with a victory.  It should be a good match, and with the rumor of one of these men switching shows tomorrow night (although you would never know that Jericho wasn't on the Raw roster), it should be the end of the program.

Prediction: Edge

14126254

Jack Swagger (c) vs Randy Orton - Extreme Rules Match for the World Championship

The handling of Jack Swagger may be the epitome +!+%$+! booking.  I just don't understand it.  He's lost cleanly to Randy Orton, The Undertaker, and John Morrison (am I forgetting anyone?)  Swagger's been champion for less than 30 freaking days.  He needs all the help he can in getting over and gaining credibility with the fans.  They make fun of his lisp, they bury him in the ring.  This is exactly why young talent continues to fail in getting over in the WWE.  It's like the writers have direct orders from the WWE veterans to not let any new guys reach their level (and unfortunately, this may very well be the case).  However, despite everything the WWE's done to bury Swagger this past month, for some backwards reason, I expect him to get the win tonight.  This is a complete guess, but Cody Rhodes has been absent since WrestleMania when Orton punted him.  My prediction is Rhodes returns tonight to cost Orton the match.

Prediction: Jack Swagger - Retains World Championship

14042770

John Cena (c) vs Batista - Last Man Standing Match for the WWE Championship

One more WrestleMania rematch.  Things are not good right now between Batista and the WWE.  Batista has not signed an extension which led to the WWE pulling him from an upcoming movie role which did not sit well with Dave.  Rumors are now that Dave could  very well be on his way out of the WWE, possibly as soon as this week.  It would be a real shame if Batista walks because he's at this high point of his career in my opinion.  This swag heel gimmick is so awesome, so it would be a shame to see him leave.  With everything I've said, let's now add to the fact that Batista is facing Superman, and that means that no way is Batista winning tonight.  Cena will win and send the fans home happy, and potentially send Batista out of the WWE.  An injury angle here could very easily allow the WWE to quietly sweep Batista out of the picture.

Prediction: John Cena - Retains WWE Championship

On paper, it's not a great card.  The gimmick matches will allow the writers to be creative, but the lack of blood and violence will definitely take away from the idea of Extreme Rules.
