6.9 Quake in Cali

I'd say a 6.9 earthquake is big enough for General. Plus, who the hell goes in regional forums?

Then why not post this in that regional forum if Cal accounts for such a huge population on here?...therefore down the line if everyone does thatthen that forum will have more traffic.

General refers to 'general topics' not 'general population'

Alright, I'm sorry about that. But why are you finding out through NT anyway? Not to get personal, but shouldn't you be finding out fromother friends, his family, etc. if anything serious happened?

Again, if anything happened to him/her, sorry about that.

Yep, that's it

Just like you don't care about what goes down in Minnesota, I don't care about what happens in California. That means the earthquakes which happenabout 15-20 times per year.

We're not out on the streets, this is an internet forum. I'm not "snitching" on anybody anyway, it's just damn annoying to see city specific topics in General. That's the reason why regional forums are empty anyway, people just post stuff related to where they live in General which takes space from stuff the rest of us that don't live in California want to read.

Word... my girlfriend lives in SD.

Not every one checks news websites or the news all the time. I'm sure most NTers find their news in General. To me, it's just a regularday and I wouldn't have known that there was an earthquake unless this thread was made in General, or my girlfriend told me. My girlfriend hasn't saidanything to me yet, so this thread helped by being in this forum.

next time you don't wanna read about California, don't click the topic. just don't click it.

ignore the topics you don't care for...

this is why so many NTers have meaningless post counts. ya'll post alot of stupid, irrelevant stuff in threads that don't have anything pertaining toyour interests. not to mention the single emoticon posts.

now I'm not sayin all 9k sumthin of your posts are because of that, but i think you'd have alot less posts if you didn't post like how you did inthis thread that has NOTHING TO DO WITH YOU.

because im on nt maybe?

and how the hell would they be able to call me if they got wrecked in a earthquake genius?

You're an exception, face it. NT can't be built around you and it shouldn't be.

The majority of people that post/care about earthquakes on NT are the ones that live in California. Less than 5% are in your spot...if you care that much tofind out how your friend is doing RIGHT when the earthquake happens how about checking the California regional forums every so often?

...because that's where these posts should be.

Using NT for your source of earthquake news

Whatever. No chance I get across what I'm really trying to get across....I'm not trying to be a mini-mod or "dry snitch" (which has lost allreal meaning on here by the way) I just don't see why this can't be in the:

-NorCal
-SouCal
-PacWest

...forums. They're not successful because a lot of regional topics are posted in General and I tried to see if I could get some of you to understand thatin here but it's obvious I chose the wrong thread because this thread is, in fact, about a natural disaster, so everyone should be informed and I knowthat. I was wrong and chose the wrong spot to post about my rant about regional forums so sorry if any of you got/were offended. But I'm done arguingbecause it's really not a big deal it's just I didn't understand in the first place why this needed to be in General (I do now). If I came off asmad or whatever sorry but I'm not.
