...are they suppose to give you gas money? I was invited to a Nike meeting in Boston [I live in RI] so I'm taking the trip the in the morning. But I'm wondering, is it mandatory for them to give me gas money? They haven't mentioned it yet but I remember last time we had a Nike meeting over an hour away, they didn't let me take my car cause he said they would have to give me gas money. But this time, I'm taking my car and no one has mentioned anything about it yet. I was going to bring it to their attention tomorrow but I first want to find out if they have to do it or not. Thanks in advance.

most companies just have you file an expense report and they'll pay you back on your next paycheck

There's no obligation for them to and highly unlikely in this economy.
A lot of corporations have cut costs and I wouldn't expect reimbursment.
I get your point though. You should of brought the attention of the matter beforehand.
I use to live in Providence, RI. Boston is not a far drive at all.

at my job, after the trip they would have me fill out a form. They paid out a certain amount for every mile we drove. Make sure to write the mileage down before you take the drive.

mandatory? lmfao nothing is mandatory. they dont have to give you anything
