I think the controversy he meant was that this shoe was becoming his shoe of the year even tho these are far lower on that list for most people. The AMM 3 is widely regarded as the shoe of the year, some say a different shoe is, but rarely anybody saying these AMM 1's are it lol. At least thats what I'm interpreting his post as.
