Acting "Black"?

I think it's about being into the Hip Hop culture but white people think if anyone enjoys thing most black people do they are acting "black."

"The oppressed become the oppressors"

This why is why we reverse it and say "acting white."

Let's be real, when people say black in that context, what they mean is ghetto.

Personally, if this were a problem I dealt with, I would focus on why America thinks "black" and "ghetto" are interchangeable terms.

What's ghetto then?

That term's more ambiguous than "acting black"

Yep.
But it frustrates me how so many black people tell other black people that they act white if they talk in an appropriate manner or dress in a preppy style of clothes.
Like, do you not see how you're empowering white people with that statement?
You're basically saying that all white people are well-mannered and proper while all black people are ghetto and come from the hood.

From my personal experience, the words mean pretty much the same thing.

Cars with big rims, big jeans that sag to the floor (and strangely now, that bright colored, tight fitting, H&M crap), and the black version of the Happy Birthday song.

I regularly hear all of those things referred to as being black, or being ghetto.

My friends tell me "I act white" all the time...

Just because I say words like "Dangerously"

no. the fact that you think these are the characteristics of blacks suggest that you are a closet racist.THESE are the stereotypes that are downright offensive.Other stereotypes (enjoy rap/ r&b, plays sports, speaks in slang, wears baggy clothes etc) are the ones that most people associate with blacks. Additionally,I don't even like the terms "black" aand "white".

Black do hold the highest unemployment rate and imprisonment in the U.S though. It's a damn fact. Sorry but there is no denial . Out of 10 black men only about 1 or 2 end up being successful in life

I was making a point. even the stereotypes you posted are offensive as well. if you think copying baggy clothes and rap music makes you the most copied race then how stupid does that really sound.
