I nor anyone I know my age personally know or have been in a riot so I'm certain most of the people responding in this thread and ones like have.But from what my father has told me that burning down a CVS and tossing a few stones at police officers isn't and shouldn't be considered a riot but more so a skirmish between the community and authority.
This coming from a man that saw the aftermath of the 68 riots in cities all across America in the city he resides in himself.
Some ask the question what will come from this so called rioting?It's not the rioting that changes things but rather the fact that people are willing to go up against authority which in turn will cause the city,the state to act with man power that cost a lot of money to do and not only that it stops people,business's big and small from generating money and spending money.
You disrupts the flow of money you get everyone's attention and I'm not against in doing so by burning down some undervalued row thhouses?by holting gentrification from happening which would actually do the opposite your helping them doing it faster and for cheaper by burning down things.
Sadly this is the only way to gain attention and the sick part about it is that everyone's eyes are glued to their televisions;a violent country,violent people,love and gravitate towards violence.

Yea, but I'm not going to use the excuse of me being angry and as an adult to automatically go out an loot. I grew up in the hood, I know exactly what some of these folks thinking. Not to say every person out there are doing that but it seems more like an excuse when it's solving nothing but giving cops more reason to murk someone.

I guess the NYC subject is still one people are butt hurt on #NT about so in respect for this thread I won't respond. I wasn't making parallels to NYC I was saying in general this IS NOT protesting.
Those who know what I'm talking about understand this was kids bugging out throwing rocks at first after school that got out of hand.
Now about this SUSPECT fire? How do rioters start a 10 engine fire. Looks like this was a chance to put a blow in a black community rebuilding. Someone obviously wants that real estate.
