Air Jordan 5 Retro Grape NRG - Fresh Prince

Wait....that sticker is for moisture protection and to prevent mold? So the sticker has a special scent or something to do that? Or are you saying its a sticker there that just states that. Always seen that sticker in some of my shoe boxes, I thought it was there every time nike used a premium material or something. Never knew......good info.

wait what? i always thought that sticker was there to let u know the kicks been treated to prevent mold/moisture. sorta like the qc stamps to let us know the shoes "passed qc". i know they startd putting those green stickers after a release of AJ 1 KOs had to be recalled cause of mold on the kicks.

I just checked out the link jaysfordays9 jaysfordays9 ppsted several pages back.

I ended up getting one from ebay since i had some ebay bucks to spend. I also had an exacto style knife and some tweezers. I was gonna use the laces from my 2013 pair but found some at the outlet for 2 bucks.
I got you, I’m ordering from eBay now, which xacto knife should I pick up? Also, where can I find lace locks, where the OG or 2013 pairs just clear with a black jump man or was it purple?

If you have a super sharp thin blade or a seam ripper from the local walmart or 99 cent store would work also. I had a seam ripper and was gonna use that but a sharp blade worked like a charm. Super easy and snipped the threads right off. Its super easy bro.
2013 had black lacelocks. Im sure you can find some black lacelocks (ebay?) Or local seller? and maybe you already have the clear plastic carrier? Then just slip em in to the carrier piece and you're set my G

I see. I’m gonna shoot to Michaels in the morning for the seam ripper & just grab a leather puncher there, they have em for like $11, I’m scrounging around eBay now for locks & I think I found a couple options, thanks for all the info my G, once you cut the seam on the tongue were the loose threads easy to get out? & when you made the top holes was the black fabric on the inside fraying bad? This site has some locks that look ok, the site just looks a bit sketchy, lol

Yes. When you slice the stiching on the tongue the little dangling threads come out pretty easily. I am kinda ocd so i took out all the little cut threads, so it took me a couple extra minutes.

The bottom pic is when i pulled all the little threads out. You'll see...its super easy.
The black sock liner wasn't a problem at all. I was expecting an issue since its cloth and i dont want to mess up the cloth to the point that it rips open prematurely, but when i punched the holes through, the sockliner puched out very evenly.

The sockliner wasn't hard to punch thru...the little chads/ excess material came out easily

Great Job!

From what I've seen the insoles look like the thin ones we were receiving before the "remastered" process. Why are they not using the ortholite insoles?

I see. I watched that guys tutorial right after I talked to you last night, he made it look pretty easy to do, now I just need to find the lace locks. I’m heading to pick up the supplies for surgery now

These are nice asf! Glad I didn't sleep too long but I won't be doing any customizing although they look nice great work guys.

I'm planning on rocking these Fresh Prince 5s as is, at least the first time I wear them, but not gonna lie. Seeing as the customizing looks pretty damn easy, and you guys showing how good they look after the fact, I'm SUPER tempted to make mine into Fresh Prince 5s w/ LACES.
