okay, though they were not officially a GR, I meant more available than DB IVs or RA XIIIs; at least Grapes, Olive Vs and Space Jams were......the others you mentioned above were marketed as "limited"(Olive Vs included; urban account) so I'll give you that, but the days of reselling at high values on a general level are pretty much gone which was what my overall point of mentioning those pairs was......That aside, nobody can argue about JB not caring about collectors for anything other than money or how they exploited us though.Originally Posted by elcerrito91
I wont quote all those pics but according to that post Grapes, Altitudes, DMPs, Laser IV's, and Olive V's were a general release
Stop posting.
Buying new Jordans for collecting is essentially pointless since they will most likely be retroed again/ they aren't as good as their predecessors (why not just spend your money on the real thing (OG or earlier retro edition) of the same shoe instead especially when you know they are better?), also because stuff is retroed so frequently and in such high quantities, a myth of exclusivity (also formed by being marketed as "limited") is created and the shoes become quite commonplace/ worthless. Another thing is that a good amount of experienced NTers still think the shoes as sacred and that JB should or even that they have the obligation to make them exactly as the originals or not make them at all and that some pairs should be left unretroed etc). So my question is, why are experienced NTers still falling for JB's tricks and obvious manipulation of the market even when you do know the issues I'm talking about and why are some of you still believing that JB actually cared about us except to make more money or that they actually care about our feelings on shoes? I understand that some of you may feel like you "need" these for the collection or just to have/ wear which is fine, but I just can't see how you can settle for a subpar "altered" version that isn't even the real thing and especially when you know they won't be as good as the 00 version......I'd rather just shell out the 4-6ish for the real deal; (fyi, there's a yellowed DS 9.5 for 4 on the bay right now, if anyone wants em for that low...same dude has DS sz 12 white laser IVs for 389 plus shipping too).
Also can't you tell that JB is obviously cashing out and taking maximum advantage of collectors because they know that a substantial amount of us are losing interest in the line and they want to make the most money as possible while they still can, because why else would they retro these, Chicago Xs, white/ cement IVs, Columbia XIs etc all in one year combined with all of the other recent retros of "classic" CWs: (Black Cement IIIs, True Blue IIIs, Last Shot XIVs etc)?!? The fact that they are retroing some of the pairs that most of us would have never thought they would (Altitude XIIIs, Chicago Xs, Bordeaux VIIs for example), is a clear sign to me that JB is feeling the pressure caused by some of us losing interest and thus want to release the stuff while enough of us are still around and willing to buy the pairs because it's not like the kid (most likely an HB) who got into Jordans in 08 would know what Chicago Xs or Olympic VIs are anyways, thus may not be willing to buy them due to a lack of connection/ reliability to the shoes themselves.
I seriously would not doubt that DMPs, Laser IVs, XQ Is would be retroed at some point, just due to the fact that they are retroing shoes that were marketed as "limited" pairs too, such as Olympic VIs or Altitude XIIIs, as well as practically every shoe that some collectors are still "waiting" for (Chicago Xs, white/ cement IVs etc) which basically is a message to me that anything is up for grabs as far as retros go and I would bet that JB will take full advantage of our reduced presence similar to what they've been doing since 00 as far as catering to us, which actually just produced more HBs, who then allowed JB to lower quality/ prod costs because the current market would buy the stuff anyways (this applies to mainstream Jordan consumer as well, who doesn't necessarily know about collecting or is uninformed as far as quality declination goes and who usually are into Jordans because they are "cool" or a status symbol, which makes them HBs at the end of the day as well). JB was created in 97 to milk the line for as much profit as possible and thus was built on a bubble that is going to pop sooner than later imo, give or take a few more years, possibly five.

I know, but what I'm saying should be understood by those who are uninformed/ who basically allowed JB to do the stuff they've been doing since 04, and sadly even some members are NT still don't know.
Well it's obvious that you've moved on and have no interest in purchasing anything else from JB since it will lack in comparison to earlier releases. My question to you is why are you still posting in the Jordan Brand thread while bashing these new releases and rehash how great the old Jordan Brand used to be?
You have two choices: either lower your standards of what retros used to be and accept these retros for what they are or shun these releases and move on from being concerned from what is being released by this company.
