My pic above is the first time with the black laces in them.
I started out with white for the past couple of years. But this week the laces were looking yellow so switched to black.

Honestly, that’s what make the Chicago 2’s stand out and make the shoe look so much better!

I know what you're saying about the 1s, but--and I can't really explain it--I have hated the Chi 2s with black laces since I was a kid and they were the current shoe. It just looks clunky or wrong or jarring to me. But when I put white laces in them, for some reason the entire shoe looks a lot more elegant and clean. So that's what I do with them. Flame suit on, but I can take it
PS To me, it's no different than putting black laces in the silver-tongue fire-red Vs. That shoe also has a black midsole and red accents just like the 2s come out of the box, but black laces looks like *** in my eyes--and no one does it on that shoe, so ...

Yeah I never felt that way about Chi 1's or 2's until about 10 years ago. I feel like I seen Ty/donjuan with white laces in both and he changed my view.
I'm always OG everything....but these are my 2 exceptions.
I'm back to black with the 2's tho as we can see from the previous page.

I wonder, are these shoes forgotten? The 2022 retro was a good retro from an aesthetic standpoint. Even resale prices often has dipped.

No one seems to care about 2’s. Plus this was the first one and the toebox is nowhere near as refined as some of the cws that came out the following year.
