Does simply putting an infrared sole on the bottom of the shoe even really constitute an infrared colorway? Meh.
These look more like a black/cement IV but instead of using true red or whatever, someone said, make it infrared and we can say it’s inspired by multiple classic colorways. Personally, I would’ve liked it more as one or the other, not both.
Six months in, the Classic is the only 40 I see as a must have. Other than that pair, my interest in this model has fallen to zero thanks to what they’ve done for colorways. Another wasted opportunity by JB after a flaming first drop. :smh:
Yes, because infrared is a color, not just a colorway lol. Where does da infrared go on the original 6s? On da bottom

Oh I know LOL
It’s really the color blocking they went with that has me saying meh. They could’ve used the color somewhere on the midsole rather than the outsole, and made the 40 on the back infrared, at least. 🤷‍♂️

I know some of the best designers at Nike of all time personally, they themselves think these new “designers” that don’t actually design anything other than work on a team of 10 individuals putting colourways together think they’re out to lunch for reasons as I stated above. The call back pairs are flash in the pan releases that have happened no where. It’s really pathetic of the brand to celebrate their 40th anniversary shoe with trash colourways (other than the Chicago and classic pair)….JB is so easy to read….some of these designers claim “we back”…. Nah, your “out of touch with reality” of what consumers want.

100%

They say “Sneakereads” are a very small part of sales, and don’t matter much to Nike/JB; then who are they catering to when they drop retros? Especially of classic silhouettes, and/or colorways?

As mentioned, they’re out of touch of who they’re trying to sell to.

Was talking with friends, and I mentioned, instead of all the BS, they should drop less frequently, with higher volume. Let the people actually look forward to something, instead of being content with the flavor of the week, and forget about it by the next weekends drop.

The leaks/pics 6+ months (sometimes 12+) in advance aren’t helping either. By the time stuff actually drops, a lot of us are over it already.

yeah its so funny to think of their sentiment that "sneakerheads are a small part of sales"

and then they pump 100x more marketing into the OG colorways (which, to be clear, not complaining about og colorways it's just that the nostalgia marketing of that is def geared more towards those that know or want to learn)
