All Things Sports Media Thread!!

On this episode we’re going all in on the true love of skill in the game of basketball. Watching the postseason, skill is display at the highest level. We recognize the best players in the world going at each other with it all on the line. The deciding factor? Supreme skill. As Candice Parker pointed out after the Hawks knocked off the Knicks, when unleashed, skill wins every time.

For Gil, that’s what it’s all about. As we saw with the Lakers coming up short, it wasn’t just about injury, execution or defense, they didn’t have enough skill to succeed. Over in Portland, it’s one thing to have a dominant, ultra-skilled player, but if not surrounded by a skilled enough roster, you don’t have a chance. We all see different things when we watch and study the game, but an examination of winning basketball points out one common thread, you’re not winning without skill.

Sounds JUST like the situation UMD has gone through over the last 20 years with keeping talent in house.

Interesting what he said about the "Green Room Politics." I never thought about the cold feet idea.

He said GP and Delonte West couldn't even bring the ball upcourt during practice.

#StephenASmith on multiple occasions, looked into the camera and said “I don’t care what the Black Community thinks about me” but when he offended white women after his “provoke” comment, you saw a humble, meek and mild public apology. But with #KwameBrown, he apologized for nothing. He actually ridiculed the #NBA for adding hoodies to their uniform because he said it would upset white ppl because of #TrayvonMartin smh but to the Black Community he offended, he apologized for nothing, and #ESPN keeps rewarding him for it, which is the bigger problem. This is much bigger than Kwame Brown

Great conversation about what it means to be a rich black athlete in America.

On this episode of “The Rematch”, Etan Thomas talks with Quentin Richardson and Darius Miles about the upcoming season of their “Knuckleheads” podcast with The Players Tribune, being a part of the 2000 NBA draft, their time with the Clippers, what motivated them to be a part of the media, overcoming struggles on and off the court and more.

Etan's Podcast is solid man.

Hosted by NBA veteran Etan Thomas, this unique athlete-first podcast will explore the differences between how we see professional athletes and who they really are. The Rematch takes a look at the thin line between love and hate in sports; a show that examines the nature of media and popular opinion by giving athletes an open forum to reclaim their identities from labels like “polarizing,” “mercurial,” and “immature.” The Rematch is part of the BasketballNews.com Podcast Network.
