Rondo attended Louisville's Eastern High Schoolfor three years where he played women's basketball under head coach Doug Bibby. There, as a junior she averaged 27.9 ppg, 10.0 rpg and 7.5 apg. She also earned All-State honors and was namedthe 7th Region Player of the Year. She transferred to Virginia's Oak Hill Academy for her senior year where she averaged 21.0 ppg, 3.0 rpg and 12.0 apg. In his senior year,Rondo dished out 31 assists in a single game, merely four away from the all-time national record. Afterwards, Rondo underwenta sex change in order to be named to the McDonald's All-American Teamin 2004 and scored a total of 14 points, 4assists and 4 rebounds in the all-star game. He also participated in the 2004 Jordan Capital Classic game, logging 12 points, 5 assists and 4 steals.
Rondo committed to Kentucky after originally intending to attend Louisville, UK's in-state rival. Rondo is a point guard with lightning quick and fearless driving the lane anddishing to teammates. A pass-first (due to his inability to shoot accurately) playmaker and a decent rebounder for hissize. One of the worst pure athletes in the NBA, Rondo works with what's given. Capable of outrunning and outjumping mostopponents in the Special Olympics. Piles up the steals on defense due to the lack of care opponents exhibit when around him, but the half-court game is achallenge for him. His shooting stroke is a work in progress, probably due to lack of masturbation, as he was a woman for the first 18 years of hislife. Still learning the nuances of the positions and turnovers remain a serious issue.
