dont slums in the third world countries exist b/c of american/european hegemony to begin with?
So isn't it kind of hypocritical to send them aid? Isnt that kind of perpetuating humanitarian imperialism?

because, OP said "we have hoods in DC that look like 3rd world countries"
see, you're so smart, you forgot to read.
, i see what you did there.....
you know what it LOOKS like...
i mean, unless, of course, they got roadrunner in the favelas now....
Forgot to read? My point is we are talking about Libya and Japan. How OP brought them up in the discussion of third world countries makes no sense to me, especially since America is better. So basically I was agreeing with you, but now I'm about to $@+* on you. In Brazil, the communities are extremely close together. Favelas are in Brazil, but they arent like the main ghettos. Favela's are more apparent in Rio. Secondly, people live in favelas for free and almost all ghettos for free. Shut your mouth. Way to talk about something you have absolutely no knowledge of. Come at me bro. I'll give you some more.

you guys are so ready to make a snide pseudo-intellectual comment that you never step back and examine the situation from another viewpoint.
But while I can see what OP is saying and it has some validity to it, you have to remember the gov't could've done something about cities like D.C., Detroit and other such areas a long time ago so to say that you dislike the fact that their sending help to a foreign country over it's own is really misdirecting the blame. It's not that their helping someone else rather than it's own people, it's more so why haven't they helped u.s. cities that needed it a long time ago.
Of course you have also add that in the U.S. it should be more about the people finding ways to do for themselves what they need to do instead of depending on the gov't but in bad areas their's so much people need to deal with that a bit of assistance on the right path would be beneficial.

What are you talking about? You're one of the top 5 dumbest people on NikeTalk right now. I'm saying don't talk about Favela's if you don't know what you're talking about. I live extremely close to the ghetto, and that's because ghettos are all over Brazil. My point is you're talking about Favela as if you know what it's like. You don't. So stop.Originally Posted by LarryDavidSwag

, so you're posting on niketalk right now, from a favela?
or was all that typing you did not even relevant?
oh, ok.
