The N word was created specifically for Black Americans. Animal has been used/ is used to describe everybody.
When I was in Israel on vacation me and my brother were playing soccer at the entrance of the hotel at like 12 am. Some old Israeli opened his apt window from across the street and yelled "animals" in Hebrew.
Animal is a generic derogatory term.

Funny, because the only time I've heard it is when white people refer to black criminals. I'm 30+ and never in my life heard a black person refer to a criminal as an animal (in a negative way, not in a complimentary way "Dude is a beast, animal, etc.")
Maybe because we let the legal system cast judgement on people instead of getting on a high horse and trying to degrade them ourselves.

I suggest you take a class in African American history. The term animals while being used on black people has a LONG history. For most of you, it'll require no adjustment whatsoever, because you never were involved in the problem and are, now, just debating it out of sheer boredom. Life goes on.
The fad is coming to an end. That's what this means. It doesn't mean that you're forbidden from discussing Orwell's Animal Farm. It doesn't mean that you can swap "animals" for "uncouth carbon based vertebrate life forms" just to be a jerk. It means the fad is over. Period. I understand the argument but I have to ask: where does it end? How do you draw the line between overt offense and over-sensitivity? What gets preference on this board? Looking forward to your thoughts.
