at the end of the day, meth is the one who has a ban, warn, and suspend button on this niketalk account so i'll follow the no animal rule but i disagree with it.

if the posts were to say "those black animals" or "those white animals", "those female animals" or "those ****** animals" i could see the outrage since it's referring to a specific race, gender, or orientation

is the word overused? yes, but in every thread it was used the word was deserved when looking at the actions of the video or articles that were posted in the thread.

maybe im looking at it differently because i just see it as a word. the other day i was at subway eating and my friend was chewing and eating his sandwich like he never saw food before so i jokingly called him an animal. there was no hurt feelings.

someone posted something on facebook about the knicks and i jokingly referred to the entire team not named melo or amare as animals, and the dude who is a knick fan thought it was funny.

i see it as just a word, you can argue it's being overused but most of the time when it's posted on here it's funny.

The comparison to the sexist "kitchen jokes" is an apt one. The bottom line is that such behavior pollutes the forum environment.

The next time you come across it, submit a report and, if you like, refer the offender(s) to this thread for "proof" that our staff considers it against the rules and will react accordingly.

Did you ever think that its used disproportionately against African Americans because the majority of the videos posted come from WSHH, a site that tends to show videos of African Americans behaving in such a way? While it is annoying to see the word posted over and over, I think its more annoying to see such videos posted over and over as well. Do we really need to see a video of a group of people beating up another group of people every time one gets posted on Worldstar? 
Granted, the most recent video of the two women assaulting the transsexual in McDonald's is a bit different because the coverage was more widespread, but these types of things are posted constantly. Maybe there should just be an official "STUPID %%%% FROM WORLDSTAR THREAD LOL" so it can all be contained in one place.

In many cases, that's effectively implied.  
Whether you personally would be offended by the way "animals" is used on here or not, what can't be disputed is that many of our users are offended by it and that this is entirely preventable.  Our community's diversity is one of its greatest strengths and that's something we're not willing to jeopardize.  

At the very least, the term's use as a fad needs to be put to rest.  

Sometimes we all need to make small sacrifices in order to demonstrate our respect for one another.  If you live with someone who goes to sleep earlier than you do, maybe you need to read in a different room or listen to music using headphones instead of speakers so as not to disturb them.  Spoiled brats notwithstanding, most of us learned at a pretty early age that we can't always do exactly what we want 100% of the time.  We have to share our community with a lot of different people - and that's something we all benefit from.  

I appreciate your willingness to follow a rule like this even if you don't necessarily agree with it.

As far as I'm concerned, that stuff already has a proper place: worldstar's website itself.  
We've already been locking most of that stuff on sight.  It's like if someone started a new post every time a new picture was added to the "people of walmart" website.  Just the way certain videos are titled and framed betray the underlying racism that motivates these videos' distribution. 

At its worst, it's practically propaganda.  At it's best, it's the just about the lowest form of "entertainment" imaginable.  People who want that stuff can seek it out.  It doesn't require a home here on NikeTalk.  We have standards.
