another race thread: white privledge

Obama is the probably the worst President we've ever had. Even then he still isn't lambasted by the media like Bush was and still is. He has the entirety of Hollywood and the news on his side. Calling him a socialist is far from ridiculous. He was best buddies with Bill Ayers, was described by friends and professors as subscribing heavily to socialist ideals, he rammed Obamacare, a socialist program, down the throats of Americans who did not want it, and he consistently and brazenly overuses and threatens to overuse his executive power, all the while diverting and deflecting blame to Bush. Its a miracle he isn't king Obama yet. Dude is a clown and he deserves his criticism.
Was FDR a socialist?

Unprecedented 3 terms, created gov't assistance, medicare, etc.
Why aren't we talking about Asian privilege? They are more educated and make more money than any race in America.
Is that because of their race or because they get educated and then get jobs that pay a lot?

You say they're their the most educated in regards to privilege as if they've cornered the market on getting a good education and have denied it to others :smh:

Asians and Blacks have affirmative action. They are the ones who are privileged. Whites tend to have more experience that's why they are more likely to get the job.

what exactly is asian privilege
Dudes just parroting what Bill said in the vid.

It's a whole different topic. Their argument basically comes down to Asians are reported to be more educated and get paid more (I assume income wise) which leads to them having a privilege over white ppl and everybody else. It's white ppl's attempt to point the finger at somebody else, shift blame completely, as far as this issue of privilege goes.

It's not like there's some specific area in America booming in economy where all Asian Americans are only hiring Asians and running schools where only the Asians are properly educated *Sigh*

Shifting blame? What blame? Am I at fault for "white privilege"? What am I doing wrong as a white person to have blame on me?

as a minority, the one thing i truly hate about white people, it's that passive aggressive racism, ive only seen white people do it, never to your face or flagrant.. it's always a perfectly contrived phrase or statement where you can't tell if it's racism or concern

'can i help you'

'are you lost?'

'new around here?'

'you would know that'

'nope not around these parts'

etc.. it's like theyre not calling you the n-word or s-word.. but literally just waving the letter in your face

im hispanic ive never been called a S-word, but I can recall plenty of times where ive felt some racism

This whole exchange reminds me of that Dave Chapelle bit about open racism.

Prejudice, yes. But you can't be a non-white in America and be racist.

No one feels like this type of thing is just an excuse to use for things not going you're way if you're a minority? Reminds me of "the man" just more complex

^splitting hairs for no constructive purpose in my opinion, just a provocative statement nothing more

presumably your argument that non white racism does not have the same effect as white racism, however focusing some of your attention on the cause may serve you well

rac·ism

ˈrāˌsizəm/

noun

  1. the belief that all members of each race possess characteristics or abilities specific to that race, especially so as to distinguish it as inferior or superior to another race or races.

    • prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism directed against someone of a different race based on the belief that one's own race is superior.

      "a program to combat racism"

synonyms:racial discrimination, racialism, racial prejudice, xenophobia, chauvinismbigotrycasteism
"Aborigines are the main victims of racism in Australia"

A lot of opinions about race and politics * me off on here, but this persisting statement is my biggest annoyance.Where the heck do people get the idea that only white people can be racist? It's so, so ignorant.

Waiting for Lucky Luciano to come in and say its because the dictionary is racist.

whats the use of dissecting definitions and technicalities? Shouldn't even be in the equation, theyre simply distractions that some use to deflect meaningful discussion

Amen.

Brah I'm starting to believe you need professional help

Asians (specifically Chinese, Japanese and Koreans) make more money then whites in North America but most of them hit a glass ceiling and can never rise to the higher positions in a company

Asians and Blacks have affirmative action. They are the ones who are privileged. Whites tend to have more experience that's why they are more likely to get the job.

:smh:

You know nothing about Affirmative Action if you believe that.

Please got research how much white women have benefited from it.

Repped for the gif. I suppose I did use the incorrect term. But in essence that those who aren't white don't have control over the lives of others the way whites do. So for lack of a better term, I used prejudice.

The blame of acting like white privilege doesn't exist. Lets not talk about white privilege lets talk about class privilege, wait no lets talk about Asian privilege instead, blah blah blah.

You are desperate not to feel any of that white guilt for white privilege.

I read this entire thing in Bill Oreilly's voice.

Glad it wasn't just me.

"Worst president we've ever had" made me lol.

That was flat out irrational, though I'm sure you want it to make sense. I wish cowards like you would just say what you really want to. Let's get on with it mother ******.
