Another tipping thread.

My boy was in a bar and overheard the bartender charge some girls 15 for 3 shots. He asked for 3 shots of the same thing and she told him 18. He didn't trip, but when he got his change, he didn't tip. Then she had the nerve to say 'well since you didn't tip, I've got to charge you the full price, so you owe me $3' he said he threw some bills on the bar and found the owner. That's beyond unprofessional. That's the power of money tho smh.

He shouldn't have tipped after the bartender said that BS.

I knew a chick who worked at Olive Garden and posted on Facebook every time she felt she deserved more of a tip. Would talk down about people who didn't tip well. Would call em low life's and and all kind of other things. I basically said yo you don't like ya job quit or s t f u. She unfriended me LOL...

Why would she charge the girls less? She sounds like a man hater.

I thinking she knew the girls and probably gave them a discount. It's hard to tell in situations like that. She was wrong for calling him out at the end though.

I have compassion for people that work for tips, but they need to get out of that industry unless it's an upscale place that pays well.

If he simply opened a bottle and handed it to him, I feel where he's coming from. Bartender needs to stop pocket watching and should get reprimanded for calling someone out publicly. I've been a server before, and both sides can be greedy. They should just pay them minimum wage and make the tip optional and get it over with.

People posting these bills and how little public figures tip them on social media is so bish made and lame. They don't get a big tip so they want the internet to get mad at the person. The manager can't be having his employees making this stuff public.

The public shaming of those who don't give you the money you somehow feel you're entitled to is why I can't rock with yall food service industry cats. :lol
Sucka ****

For real.. I work for tips and I don't care when someone doesn't tip cause that's like 1/30 people. It's really not a big deal to me

I would be kinda tight if an nba player only tipped $13 on $500 though :lol :lol

Tipping for a pickup isn't necessary

My brother told me he was at a Korean bar in the city and him and his friends were already in the street ready to go home when their bartender / waiter ran out to chase them and told them they didn't leave enough of a tip. Never heard of something like that.
So far I've only seen or heard of this happening in Denver at a kbbq place and some pretty popular Japanese sushi place in the east coast ..

She sounds great

One thing about tipping I don't get is that it's always a percentage of the bill.

Servers in upscale/expensive spots get a ton more tips for doing arguably less than the son/daughter at a mom & pop joint. I usually end up tipping 10-15% at the expensive joints and 20-25% at the mom & pop restaurants.

Man, posting that " I don't really care" when people don't tip me jinxed me yesterday at work :lol .. Didn't get tipped on like 9 orders, by far the most ever in 1 day :{ :lol

Say you go to the bar, what do you tip in these scenarios:

A - order one PBR beer for $1
B - order one fancy IPA beer for $15

Both take the bartender the exact same amount of work, they get a glass and pull the draft handle.

8o

I won't tip a male bartender for handing me a bottle/can beer. It's against bro code.

Not sure why anyone would order a $15 IPA, but I'm throwing $1.00 in both cases.

$1/beer

always.

If it's a mixed drink that requires actual effort (mixologist), then maybe $2.

$1 or $2 forsure, the idea of tipping based on the percentage of the tab has always puzzled me.

I tip in food where they take care of you.
Some of these places getting wild, though.

For instance going to get a boba drink. I hate when those have the tip option. Fams just giving me a milk tea :lol
