Anyone disc golf?

Can’t remember the name of the brand that specifically makes disc golf shoes

I usually wear gore tex Air Force 1’s

When it was dry everywhere last summer I was wearing a pair of nearly 20 year old Prestos but the cage completely broke off the one side of the one shoe when it got caught on some branches on the ground

A couple of my buddies got gore tex Pegasus 4’s

saw this when I went to myrtle beach last year... its basically played in a park with a bunch of trash cans... cant really judge the game itself because I never played it but it does look fun...

got my first ace the other day

Though not in a scored round (I stopped at the park close to my work on lunch) and it was a second throw on the hole but it was still glorious

The first throw was close…cranked it off the top of the pin and sign with the hole number

Second throw was on the same exact line…CHA CHING!

Discs thrown…Undertaker was the ace…other disc is an Escape

Some new plastic

Cycling plastic on several discs and this makes up nearly 75% of my bag currently

Finally, got an additional attachment for my retriever

Hell yeah! Congrats on the ace! I would still count it even if its not on a scored round. How is that new attachment on your retriever? Does it work well on water? Need to take a pic of my bag/cart to post on here too.

the attachment works well

my buddy got one and we played a couple of rounds at a course with some holes along the river, a water stream, and a pond

everyone landed in water at one point and it was no problem retriever the ones we could find

unfortunately my buddy who got the retriever couldn't locate any of his

lost three discs valued at about $100 total

the cost of the retriever is not bad at $50...there's also a carbon fiber one for $75

Went to Dynamic Disc Open this weekend at Emporia Kansas. They had a block party there with some of the pros having their own booths. Got to meet Ricky Wysocki (nice as hell, gave me a free pin), Matty O, Calvin Heimburg, Drew Gibson (wasn't friendly at all ) etc. Got some pretty sick autographed discs. Was hoping Paul Mcbeth and Simon Lizotte was there. Should've checked who were playing.

Had a rare opportunity to play doubles tonight

Baskets suck at this course…got a bad break and chained out the other side of the basket on a 15ish foot putt on hole 2

$5 to play…first place got $14, second place got $10

I think the rest went in the facilitators pocket

A win is a win. I'm about to play a tournament this weekend and it's supposed to be 95 degrees. All for the love of disc golf.

Thanks! It’s a PDGA sanctioned tournament so they’ll do live scoring on there. Haven’t played in a minute so this will be interesting.

Did you get to play all the scheduled rounds or did you get smoked out?

I know a couple of guys that went to worlds and they only got to play two rounds on account of the air quality

Yeah I did. It was hot as hell though. Halfway through the second round I was already over it. Didn’t do as well as I wanted but oh well.

Got another 2 day tournament this weekend and it will be hot as hell too. Good thing they have a water park nearby.

Heavily wooded until you get to hole 14

Had to look at not losing a disc as a win

Looks like how I like my courses…somewhat open with some tree obstacles

Even if you hit a tree or shank one you can still save par

Shanked a hole yesterday and was triple bogey

Yeah not a huge fan of courses that are too technical. One mistake and the next thing you know your in for a triple bogey.

Got a doubles round in after work last night

Tied for third but not sure if they did a playoff with us and the other pair that were -10 cause I took off after we finished…they were -8 through 15 when we finished but I didn’t want to keep my wife and kids waiting since I wouldn’t be home until we start the bedtime routine

Today they did OTB Skins (round with four pros where they play for money on every hole) at a course about 40 minutes away but unfortunately I wasn’t able to get off work

Calvin was even sorry I couldn’t make it

Got a round of glow in last week



Despite a good round we got third place

First place got 15 birdies and an eagle

A couple local courses have solar lights installed on the baskets
