Anyone else going into college with this problem?

I guarantee you that at some point in your life, maybe not now, maybe in a couple years, you are going to start wearing only a basic rotation of shoes, becauseyou'll find yourself in a position where you don't have time to worry about matching your outfits to your shoes everyday.

It's part of growing up.

If I could go back in time and not buy all the shoes that I bought, I would. It was an incredibly stupid waste of money. And your idea? An incredibly stupidwaste of time.

Take what you need, focus on making friends and doing well in school. Don't worry about your shoes.

i'm heading off to college like 15 minutes away from home. i've already decided i'm bringing 4 pairs and some flipflops. 2 beaters and 2"fresh" kicks

I only took a few pair with me. I ended up continuing my collection down there and having to bring the majority of them home.

Have fun in school!

Lots of shoes become annoying. I just brought simple things with me after my first year. Dunks, air maxes, etc.

You won't be wearing all of those shoes man. After week 7, you will be in sweats/jeans and t shirts for the most part.

not true.

OP are u staying in a dorm or apartment? when i stayed on campus i alternated shoes too, but now in my apartment i have a lot more closet space so i broughtall my sneakers, boots, heels, etc with me.

Bring 20 pairs of kicks. You will have space in your closet to stack them and you will be fine. If you are Black and at UMD you will be stunting as if you wereat an HBCU. I went to Towson U and I brought like 35 pairs my first year on campus and just kept the majority of my shoes up there. By the time I left collegeI had 55+ pairs of sneakers/shoes in my apartment. Girls notice if you are fresh. Have fun.

ARE YOU FREAKIN SERIOUS!?!?!?!? I don't have a stone face worthy of this post...and like everyone else said, you can walk through campus and point out thefreshman based what their wearing.

u know i was just thinking bout this same scenario but not for school though just in general traveling ( vacations ). i agree with some of the responses herejust need the main 5 or even better this

Real talk, all you really need to bring is a white pair, black pair, shoes to ball in, a pair of beaters, "nice" pair, & sandals.

but i dont know bout yall but i keep all my shoes in there boxes still; so my question is when traveling lets say from cali to NY how are yall packing/takingthem on yall trips??? boxless ???

Another thing, you might want to get a feel of your roommate and what type of people he'll be bringing through before you bring the bulk of yourcollection.

Is it really that complicated to decide what shoes to take that you have to ask a forum?

Does anyone else have this problem about taking their shoes to school with them?

believe me when i tell you ... you are NOT gaining any advantage by wearing shoes that are "cool" in college ... most kids wake up and roll to class in what they wore to sleep ... and especially at UMD when half your time will be spent at cornerstone and bentleys getting trampled on by all the drunks ... i started with jordans and ended up rockin new balances and nike boots almost every single day ...

Bring a few sneakers for the gym/every day and bring boat shoes/brown shoes or whatever for going out. Everybody's half asleep in morning classes to notcare and/or notice (if that's what you go for), people don't care in the gym/mid afternoon when everyone wants to get back to their dorm to sleepand/or chill and past a certain point at night, people are in go mode to go out and do whatever. Colorful and crazy sneakers aren't on the agenda for manycollege students (so I've learned)

Dude i had that same problem freshman year and I just ended up taking them all. Im gonna be a senior at UMD and trust people will notice what you have on, ifyou allways switching it up but even if you not people wont pay that much attention. I brought all of mine with me because it was for me also. 30 pairs ofkicks can be managed in those dose dorms trust, where you staying by the way

I hate how everybody says to wear bball shorts and flip flops just cause your in college....wear what you want

lulz, i just graduated from U of MD. invest in some sandals, shoes are yesterday's news here.

UMD has a lot of mountains and valleys and hills. Just bring comfrotable shoes, UMD is a college of around 25-30k students, nobody is going to care what youare wearing.

If you want to get a beat you will bring a couple of pairs of fresh sneakers. I went to college an hour and a half away with around the sameamount of pairs of shoes. I did not care my freshman year(white tees and khaki shorts) = me not really attracting the type of girl I wanted.

I started to wear more of my flyer stuff second semester and especially the following years...the end result was positive. The majority of the time I justrocked my gold flightposites in 06,07,08 cause they were durable and still got the job done as far as wearing them w/ everything and looking fly...

flightposites are the way to go in my opinion.

True.

But I feel you though fam, I mean unless you playing sports you should just dress relaxed everyday. But everybody is different...

I was in the same kinda scenario...I was on that "let me bring these just in case" tip.

You don't live too far away from campus...so you straight regardless...but if ya school mad big with a lot of students...it'll be a lot of morningswhere you wake up thinking "@%%+ it"

not too many people care about what you will be wearing.
when you get to college you will notice that a majority of the people there are dressed in basketball shorts, tshirts, and sandals.
i was like you once so just switch them out every once ina while.

OP dont listen to these cats. Keep your shoe game tight. The way these people are talking they have no social life outside their university
