Bring a few pairs.

Nobody really cares about your shoes.. but you will break a few necks if you got heat.

Bring a lot of beaters though because when walking from north campus down to where all the classes are.. its a journey.

I go to UMD btw.

Exactly the less clothes the better, unless you're at a black school

You could put me in the minority here.

I brought pretty much all my shoes with me (LA to Tucson; about a 7 hr drive) mostly because I like having all of them available and I don't drive homeoften to switch some around.

What everybody says about people not caring what you wear is definitely true. That said, I always like to dress nicely regardless and I get to prettymuch allof my shoes except for some of my nicer Js.

If you have the space then there's nothing wrong with having a lot of shoes. I've met a lot of girls who appreciate a man with dope footwear, especially when every other dude is wearing beaters or flip flops.

Look at this young fool. Since when does your 'shoe game' have anything to do with your social life? If it does, you are a straight uploser.

Does anyone else have this problem about taking their shoes to school with them?
I didn't read the thread so I'll just give you my thoughts. Bring 7-8 pairs of sneakers that you like and that will go with most of yourclothes. I wore Foams, Jordans, Air Max and Air Force last year. Some people are going to say well people don't really care about clothes in college

. Believe that if you want but when its time you go out and you looklike a damn fool because you have nothing in your wardrobe that saying will cease to be relevant. That saying has proved to be false in my three years ofschool from my observations and experiences. Dress like a bum if you want to (I do it on my short days) but don't believe for a minute that everyone oncampus is going to look like a beggar going to class.

And get them stolen during the first week.
What the hell school you went to?

Well for whoever asked i dont know just yet where im living cause i dont find out until August 12th. I hate how Maryland takes so long to let you know who yourroom mate is and where you're living. But i dont know if i can put it any simpler i would take the shoes for myself i know i will be dressing like a bummajority of the time but i will still rock sneakers with bball shorts and a white tee. Im not gonna be matching every color of my outfit to my shoes im not oneof those people.

Truth ^^^. You're damn well not meeting females in college off the strength of your Nike Blue Lobster SB dunks. No one's gonna care aboutstepping on your crispy infrared 90's at a party. You're gonna go play ball in your DS True Blues?

The 'shoe game' should have no impact on your 'social life' unless you're only looking forward to meeting and hanging out with other malesneaker nerds. Bring a few every day sneakers, one or two good kicks out of your collection and some nice loafers or brown shoes and you're good.

Its not fair for you guys to say to leave the sneakers at home, or only bring 5 pairs.

You should know how the people in your school dress.. if they dress "fresh" and if you would like to fit in, then you would have to do the same.. ifthey do the white tshirt, bball shorts, then you do the same.

Life is all about adapting to your surroundings..

For me, at my college everything is a fashion show.. so 5 sneakers won't do me any good..
