it says they were from the unit that killed bin Laden, and it did not say that they were the ones that did the shootings. They could have been part of the raid, but no one will know for sure other than the higher ranks that deal with such classified information.
The actual number of SEALs in DEVGRU is classified information, no one knows how many there are.

No. These guys routinely perform highly dangerous missions. Something went terribly wrong on this operation and lives were lost.

What is fishy about that?

ElCatfisho is making sense.

Let's say the unit had 40 members total.

15 went to get Bin Laden.

25 died in the "incident."

Of the 25 that died, all of the 15 that got bin Laden could be included or none of them.

Get it?

Some of you people are really stupid.

Karma?

We killed them because they've seen too much?

*#*+

These guys are the elite of the elite, they do missions we will never know about in places you wouldn't think we are in. The government wouldn't kill them "Because they've seen too much".

This was most likely a mission to capture or kill a terrorist leader or someone real important because DEVGRU SEALS don't just go out to patrol and #%!$. Some Afghan soldier that was involved probably tipped them off and they were ambushed with RPG fire.

These guys are part of the unit that killed Bin Laden, but not THE SAME GUYS. Learn how to read people. There are well over 200 DEVGRU SEALS.

you think there is no space and nasa is making it all up, cartune, all your opinions are void.

My only thoughts: We lost good soldiers over what many would call a pointless war.

30 dead, 22 seals, deadliest single loss of life since the start of the war.

No doubt it was shot down, wouldn't be surprised if a video is released by as-Sahab shortly. Taliban had there own little "surge" since '08.

Will the ISAF stop wasting lives on an un-winnable effort to prop up a narco state ? Will Obama have the guts to do the right thing ? Of course not.

edit: Wow, the sheep already flocking to this with the OBL theories. None of those killed were part of the raid. Taliban/AQC/AQM have all confirmed Osama's death.

this is what I was thinking

but at the same time we dont know how many seals of team 6 had something to do with the OBL mission

so it could have been 30 seals and now 25 are dead that would leave 5 remaining

either way a big chunk of seal team 6 is gone! Cause I know the US didnt tell too many people about the mission meaning seal team 6 wasnt that big of a squad (the elite of the elite)....I would put money on it that atleast one of them actually went in the house during the OBL

Bin Laden isn't dead and those Seals knew they didn't kill him and it was all BS. They had to clip em.

lmaoo at this conspiracy theorists who claim OBL ain't dead are the same theorists that claim 9/11 didn't happen.

Everyone gets it, but you have to remember half the people in here are the conspiracy clowns who think if a tree falls down its the government trying to hurt the people.  Gotta weed them out when reading threads like this

I'm pretty sure Osama Bin Laden would release a ton of videos of himself running around being alive if he had the chance to completely humiliate the United States government. No?

Strong sig to post correlation

Rescue missions are notoriously dangerous. Mostly because the enemy is there waiting. They're not oblivious of US doctrine in such situations.

If this happened some heads are going to roll because this is a major %%@# up.

When they said the unit that killed OBL they mean DEVGRU. DEVGRU has nearly 300 operators why and since the team that took down OBL did it approximatly 3 months ago and trained for this specific mission for months they are more than likely stateside at Dam Neck training getting ready to deploy again in a few months. So the chances it was the same unit is very small.
