I had a conversation with somebody from a different region and they told me people in their area didn't like Biggie.

They only started hearing him when they moved to NY.

Are there people out there who don't think B.I.G. is nice?

No he wasn't wack.

Yes there are people who think that. There are billions of people in the world... there are ridiculous opinions on everything.

*In before Biggie GOAT argument.

This isn't about the BIG Goat argument. I'm not even going there. I'm wondering if there are people out there who don't even respect him.Somebody told me they only started hearing his songs when they got to NY and were like 19 years old. They moved from a major metropolitan area. I'mwondering if this is popular opinon.

I know a lot of people who only know his singles and have never heard 10 crack commandments if that counts

I didn't want this to be regional about St. Louis. It looks like the overwhelming majority don't suscribe to this theory. I wasn't sure if peoplein other regions didn't really mess with BIG like that. I know NY has artists that are really big here that are just local and the media makes them seeminternational since we're NY

even this type of feeling is new to me. why do you feel he's overrated?

Lyrical content of The Whisper Song > any music that has/will ever come out of Missouri.

I don't really like listening to his songs except some. I like some of his songs though. I just don't really listen to Big a lot.

Hurts my heart to read/hear @@++ like this.

BIG aint wack but NY dudes need to understand just because hes a legend in NY doesnt make him a legend in another region. Rap opinions obviously arentrestricted to a New York State of Mind.

Time you be some entirely left %+!* G... like waaaaaaaaay past the average and its quite disturbing 85% of the time

Yeh, same story with me when I was in Dallas Texas for a minute. Nobody down there really like BIGGIE, they all like dance songs. lol

i dunno... his !*%! just dont appeal to me like that... he can rap but i dont listen to music just to hear somebody rap... i dunno

but uhh before i got let me start some !*%!...

Hov > big

That's just your personal opinion, and youre entitled to that. I think all rap fans have to realize that BIG can't be regarded as the GOAT becausehe didn't dominate the game for a long enough time. He's like Len Bias of the rap game. He's a crazy coulda, shoulda, woulda.

Do people not from NY have trouble relating to BIG?

Ya'll dudes are funny man. Give credit where it's due. Biggie transcended regional boundaries. One of the most notable figures in raphistory.

This is exactly why I made this thread. I thought Biggie did too, but apparently people elsewhere don't feel the same.

RavageBX...how do you feel about say uhh Outkast?

There are certain acts that just took it there regardless of region... B.I.G and Kast were both part of that category regardless of region their contributionto the game should be respected, and if it isn't that is someone who is ignorant of this genre's history therefore doesn't deserve to be takenseriously.

Its one thing not to be a die hard fan but to ignore their impact and the classics that they have given to the game does the genre a disservice.
