something I've always wanted to do..

I go to Spain every summer

look up hostels..train fares (u can take trains at night when traveling to diff countries..) this will save on staying at a hotel or hostels on some nights..

ask all of the locals on good places to eat at good price points ..

bring one and only one backpack only the bigger..camping ones..travel as light as possible..the essentials only..

don't worry about exchanging ur currency..you will get hit so bad with the exchange rate..just call your bank and let them know which countries on which dates....when u land just withdraw from ATMs..it will save u a lot..I'm not sure about the U.K. but in Spain the max u can withdraw is $300 USD..u can increase ur allotment if you request it at your bank

also take bus and trains as often as possible ..cabs are so expensive..

if I think of anything else I will add ..

For anyone who likes to travel or just plain never wants to think twice about what ATM they're going to use ever again, open a Charles Schwab High Yield Investor Checking Account.

It's completely free, no annual fees or minimum balance.  You have to also open a Charles Schwab brokerage account but it's also free, no minimum, and doesn't require a deposit or funding to open.

The reason it's so great for travelers is because it comes with a Visa debit card with no foreign transaction fees. No ATM fees, like none period anywhere in the world. If the foreign ATM or a local ATM, say Wells Fargo or BoA, charges  you a fee to use their ATM then Charles Schwab reimburses your account at the end of the month.

Change money to pounds and euros at your bank. (it takes 3 days) They will rip you off if you change over there
Keep some money in a empty chapstick
Don't be afraid to go away from the itinerary. You will meet a lot of cool people that might be going to another part and doing the same thing as you.

the allotment I was referring to was max within 24 hr period

London is the safest city I have ever visited. Paris on the other hand, is sketchy be aware of your surrounding at all times. A lot of pickpockets do not carry much on your side pockets or easy accessible pockets. Watch out for the teenagers trying to make you sign paper work for "school projects." Lastly, crazy cab drivers; my friend got assaulted by a cab driver she ended up in the hospital.....
